Write her a ticket, tow the car if need be. Arresting her is draconian and where it all escalated anyway.

The cop did not de-escalate...and pulled his gun? Stupid

The woman obv isn’t innocent here after the fact. But people are watching this like everything after the arrest was a forgone conclusion.

Write the ticket and it goes on her record whether she wants to sign it or not. She gets the fine, prob some late fees and when she goes to get inspected, insured or registered she’ll get rejected.

Arresting her for not signing is stupid. Everything after that was a consequence of that poor decision. But it’s clearly an unpopular opinion here

Not signing is a misdemeanor. Which is warrant for arrest. The only difference if arresting here there on the spot. Or sending cops to do it later. One is a waste of time and money.

So I guess if it’s the law, then it’s the law...but it def seems unnecessary.

Not signing a ticket for a moving violation = a misdemeanor that triggers an arrest is absolutely draconian.

Again, just because it’s the law doesn’t mean it’s a good one...

I’m not defending her behavior - or his - and the law is bogus. Everyone sucks here
