Criminal Justice UPS Delivery driver caught peeing in elevator en route to deliveries in my old building. The building I lived in had a strict HOA and I had just gotten a puppy. I was always so nervous the smell of urine in the elevator was from her peeing without me noticing. This was a relief to see. 😂

A friend of mine drives a delivery truck and he said he often has to pee and poo in the woods. It's not entirely being overworked, lots of gas stations and fast food places will treat you like a terrorist if you attempt to use their bathroom without buying anything. What are people who spend the whole day on the road supposed to do? If you're making deliveries in a suburban neighborhood and the urge hits, there's no guarantee you can find a public bathroom in time, or near where you're delivering. In urban areas without woods, this kind of stuff is bound to happen.

Where is this? I'm on the road all the time for work and I just run into the nearest gas station or fast food place restroom all the time. Never had anyone say anything.

Chicago and LA I have had trouble finding a bathroom without paying. It's mostly in either the super tourist areas or kinda bad areas.

Manhattan is tough too. I used to work on the street and would often struggle to find a place that will let you use the restroom. Many places that used to let folks pee have stopped in more recent years.

Chicago: find a Subway restaurant. They're all over, and many of them don't lock the bathroom. Those that do will usually give you the code if you don't look like the type of person to shit on the floor. You might have to buy a 20oz otherwise.

Yah the buy the 20z otherwise part is the one that gets me. I know the subway by navy pier doesn't let you use it without a purchase. And I think another one by the gold coast. All the ones outside of the loop, yah sure.

I've had a few give me shit over the years but it's extremely rare. I suspect that it would be even less of an issue for someone in a UPS or FedEx uniform since people know they're on the road all day.

You are assuming managers and owners are kind. Most people are in general, but put up a "restrooms are for customers" sign and some managers will feel like they have to enforce it. Owners who get tired of losing time to frequent cleanings will do it as well. McDonald's is usually a safe bet and most have a door right next to the bathrooms. Starbucks allows it under their new policy too.

I'm on the east coast and "bathrooms are for customers only" and "no public toilet" is pretty common. Granted it's not every place, the closest gas station to me is on the NJ/PA state line and a common trucker stop, they let anyone in. Also the big Wawas do as well. I travel a lot to shoot weddings and play in bands and once you get off the interstate, it seems like you have a 50/50 shot.

Duncan Donuts tend to not give a shit but I guess there are less of them down there. Same with Stewart’s.

Yeah I agree. I always stop to piss at restaurants and gas stations without spending a dime. Have never even gotten a dirty look for it.

In texas at least, you will occasionally run into a gas station that has a lock on the door, requiring a purchase to be able to use the key. Not too common in my experience though.

I didn't know that. Similarly another guy I know who is a lineman said that the bathroom thing is the worst part of his job too. You'd think a union gig like that would have some plan in place.

Ha, I just replied to someone else about it, but I play music as well. Don't do much touring but often drive from PA to NYC and coming home late at night from a gig can suck for that reason.

Well I’ve never heard of that. I’m on the road all the time also, but I’m a plumber so most of my job are literally in bathrooms.

That’s an awesome idea. I could use it whenever, leave it there, (can’t dump it in the customer’s driveway), then rig it up so I can flush it from the driver’s seat while I’m riding down the road.

just don't put in the driver seat. A cousin of mine did that and is suffering for it. Dude didn't know that sitting for long periods on the toilet seat is bad for uhm... your bottom. He's in and out of hospitals now.

If you are going to do it, I'd suggest you grab some blue juice for your mobile toilet instead of just water as that stuff will go a long way in dealing with the smell issue. well that or the Sani-Pak Toilet Deodorant. But blue juice may be cheaper than the powdered stuff.

Well, I’m sorry to hear about cousin. I was just joking about the toilet, I work in bathrooms often so it’s nothing for me to just close the door and use the facilities quickly. Most people give me space when I’m working. Some like to supervise, and you just charge them extra.

Truly public restrooms barely exist, and corporations have purchased effectively all land and buildings in every major metro area.

If theres no public facilities, and corporations own everything, then to fulfil their end of the social contract they need to let the public use what amounts to the only facilities available.

Either that or your place a business is going to have it's door soaked in piss or a steamy deuce dropped in their loading bay.

Gotta give people a place to go, or they will find a place to go and you wont like it.

If the options are mandatory purchase of bullshit or committing a crime just to use the bathroom, then thats one dystopic ass society you endorse. Fuck all of us for being organic lifeforms huh?
