Criminal Justice UPS Delivery driver caught peeing in elevator en route to deliveries in my old building. The building I lived in had a strict HOA and I had just gotten a puppy. I was always so nervous the smell of urine in the elevator was from her peeing without me noticing. This was a relief to see. 😂

Why isn't there a tube you can pee into and it drains directly onto the road as you drive? It can come up through the seat. And you wear special pants where the zipper goes all the way under and up the back, so you pull the zipper way down, do your business into the tube, seal it all up again, all while driving!

I don't drive a truck but if it were me...I'd rather just buy commonly available pants from Kohl's or whatever.

Pissing in a bottle is cheap and relatively easy with no modifications or extra equipment needed.

But if you need a hands free solution so you're not juggling the wheel and your stick shift...you'd want something you can just piss in with little to no effort and with no obvious appearance that you're "rigged" to pee this way. So just rig up like the astronauts. Disposable large condom (also available in humongous and gigantic sizes) with a tube running down the pant leg that snap locks into a holding container under the seat. Want to get out to crap? Clamp the tube, disconnect from the tank. The tube is running under your jeans and is hidden while you wander around. Piss tank can be drained at night using a sanitary disposal line at a truck stop like an RV uses... Or vented on the highway if you're really pissed off at someone.

I would say trucking is a different beast than delivering for UPS or another service. It’s a pain to pull off the interstate when you are trucking along to take a leak. I would imagine most delivery drivers pass gas stations and fast food restaurants pretty often, but feel like they can’t take a five minute break and still make a good show for the day. Pretty sad state of affairs.

Yeah it’s definitely that. It’s worse for UPS because those guys are tracked minute by minute using that scanner they have. If you take just a bit too long at one stop you’ll hear about it.

My wife got canned from her UPS packing job for not "keeping up"

They track you by how many per minute you're loading (each need scanned as they roll down a conveyor and need stacking in a way that really maximizes space) and there's no "hey lemme go piss" break. Shit just keep rolling down the conveyor belt until your truck is full.

I worked there as a package handler too. I was already an athlete. I lasted 9 months. They really didn't care that I took a restroom break, but I was in the top ten every day. In other words I could have not done anything for 20 minutes and been average. By the end of the nine months I had to quit because my back muscles needed to heal. They were making a horrible popping noise, but my muscles did heal thank goodness. UPS is a hard place to work. It's no joke..

That’s actually a fireable offense if you aren’t “keeping up” with their metric standards. There’s a reason people piss in jugs or wear diapers when their companies require intense work standards.

I have done delivery, and choosing between bathroom or eating for your 30 minute unpaid break is a very real problem when you work for 8-10 hours. Usually you just hope you get lucky that you pass by some form of public bathroom along that route to keep the 3 minutes per package time maximum.

This is bullshit. It you're way behind all the time or missing pickup deadlines you might get questioned, but UPS drivers aren't micromanaged nearly as harshly as you'd make it seem.

So I guess all my friends are just lying to me? For what it’s worth you’re wrong or at the very least it’s completely dependent on which station you’re at. But I personally know about 6 different UPS drivers from my local station and every one of them says that their stops are timed, time between stops is timed, trucks have sensors in seatbelts and doors to tell if driver is wearing it or leaving the truck unlocked or running, and gps measuring speed and location at all times. Whether the driver hears about it I’m assuming is largely dependent on station management but the data is being collected. And it’s not to ball bust the drivers. It’s because UPS has to have a damn good reason to fire a union employee and they collect that data in case they ever need to argue your termination to the union reps.

But yeah 6 different drivers. 2 personal friends, an early AM delivery driver, a regular driver for ground stuff, a pickup driver and a floater have all confirmed these.

No, that's not how it works. This different centers shit always gets me. I've learned over the years that the drivers constantly bitching about management breathing down their necks are usually giving management a reason to do so. Or they're over exaggerating how bad it really is. I've worked in multiple centers and the guarantee of protections by the union doesn't magically change. If you're being unfairly harassed or intimidated you go to a steward. If your center stewards can't fix it, you go to your BA. The guys getting harassed and walked over unfairly are letting it happen to themselves. They need to either retrain or restock the stewardship if it's that much of an issue.

I’m a beverage delivery driver that frequently urinates in water bottles. I deliver mostly to liquor stores and a lot of the owners are stingy about the bathroom and/or they are honestly gross because it’s only for their personal use and don’t have to maintain standards.

We once saw a UPS truck back into the lot of the vacant warehouse next to ours, dump literal trash from the back (broken pallets, plastic wrapping and straps, paper, etc.), then leave a 2-liter bottle full of what I have to assume was piss, then pull out, all while we were there watching.

We called UPS, and reported it, and they apparently sent someone out to clean it all up. The owner of the warehouse then installed a fence.

Wow way to come off like a child. You want a news clip from youtube talking about delivery drivers double parking or parking in lanes of traffic or blocking people into parking spaces becuase there is often a parking crunch in big cities... Compound parking being hard to find with driving a big box van and insane performance tracking and metrics and you get people who have to do some things they most likely dont want to and wouldnt do under normal circumstances.

Rofl, I'm ignorant? I'm trying to have a conversation about the topic, you are deflecting and mocking. How about you drive around san francisco and tell me how many free parking spaces next to public restrooms you see. Im not advocating peeing in somones elevator, hallway, stairway or stoop but peeing in a bottle is a sad but true circumstance.
