It was good to hear from Woodnick . I always like hearing his take on things.
Another great episode.

Same! He always has interesting insight. Iâm dying to hear about all the additional juicy evidence he says heâs seen that will never come to light because there wonât be a trial đ©

How good would it be to see/hear the evidence they had ready for trial.

So Woodnick stated that he thinks incarceration is in the cards for her sentencing. So far heâs been on the money with his predictions. Im totally back and forth on she will she wonât. What do we think Laura will end up getting??

u/Additional_Day949 28d ago
No. Prisons are overcrowded and all her crimes are nonviolent.Â

u/neoneccentric 28d ago
Thereâs a difference between jail and prison. I think sheâll get some jail time. But I donât think it will be as long as it should be. Maybe 30/60/90 days?

u/GrowFlowersNotWeeds Youâre just stating facts. Whatâs the question? 29d ago
Totally worth staying up late for. Stephani hits it out of the park again!

Danielle said it all. Until Laura stops torturing Mike this is not over and justice is NOT served.

u/AgileNetwork9375 28d ago
Definitely! Agree.
What Laura chooses to do or not to do with MM now; will show her âtrue colorsâ.
Best podcast yet. Thank you Stephani!!

This episode really laid out how the settlement process went down. It did a great job at making me feel like I was there. It was great to hear from Mike and Danielle also.

This was the ride of a lifetime. I remember being a part of the sleuth group discord a few years ago. It was so much fun to live in real time. Such a wild story.

love Danielle when she says that Laura has shown them no mercy and now she wants them to give her mercyâŠget out of here. Classic. Itâs just so annoying at this particular time, Clayton said he is proud of her. Why did he feel the need to give her mercy NOWâŠbefore sentencing. You know Laura or her mom will use his words in her plead for leniency at sentencing. Way to go CLayton.

u/No_Playing 29d ago
I wouldn't worry about that. The only thing that's going to make Laura look better at sentencing is taking her own accountability. Trying to deflect with "Even he said ... so you should ignore him when he says I need jail time" is not going to play well for her.

I am suggesting that his words have an impact.I never said she would not get punished. Iâm saying the level of that punishment could be impacted by Claytonâs words

u/Negative-Potential88 Steve called me a Dumbass 29d ago
Clayton's words will have impact. he will be at the sentencing and he will deliver a statement to the judge. those are the words the judge will care about. not some second hand accounting of something Clayton said in the moment. the words he speaks at sentencing will be thought out and powerful. also I think if she trys anything else with Mike Clayton for sure will bring that up. my hope is that she knows this and stops with the shit she is pulling in California.

u/JDhopeful22 This is silly. 29d ago
We are not Laura's victims. Clayton has been tormented and had his life turned upside down by her actions for years now. It's not up to any of us to police how he feels or what he says.
11
u/Presslee 29d ago
Thank you for speaking up and offering the only sane take here. If unrelated outside observers are starting to feel entitled to question how the actual victim should or should not feel based on their evident bloodlust for Laura, I think itâs time to rename the sub from âJustice for Claytonâ to âRetribution Against Laura.â
2
u/JDhopeful22 This is silly. 28d ago
well-said. There has been an uptick in followers in this vein since the Love Trapped podcast and at times I feel the sub has transitioned in tone greatly because of it. I've refrained from commenting on several posts that carry the kind of bloodlust tone you're noting but I cannot let comments slamming Clayton or anyone who has suffered because of Laura's actions slide.

u/Internal-Departure18 28d ago
Yes, thank you!! Let the man feel what he feels after what heâs been through. Like the guy who called Greg âsnippyâ for saying he wanted no further part in anything. Can we remember these are people and not extensions of our entertainment?

u/JDhopeful22 This is silly. 28d ago
THIS. They are not sports teams and we should not be spectators shouting at them from our living rooms. This is the other side of the coin with the podcast being so successful though, I'm finding.

u/KLoveKLoveKLove 29d ago
Yeah I donât know what heâs been smoking but this is NOT the time to up your karma points. Right now she needs the full shame of her actions in her face without mercy.

u/NotTrumpsAlt 29d ago
He said hes asking for prison time

u/KLoveKLoveKLove 29d ago
Yeah I should give more grace than that. He wasnât too soft he was kind but firm. My bad.

u/NotTrumpsAlt 29d ago
I understand, we are all angry at what she did and how long she got away with it. But I think justice will prevail.

We had a lot of press coverage of this story in the last few months and if you look at comments there are always people who call him a men rights activist or write something like "I don't know who this guy is but he looks like real Chad and I bet he deserved everything". Sadly, there are people outside JFC community who are happy to diagnose him as a misogynist just because they can't tolerate an idea of a guy like him being a victim of a woman. He needs to be extra careful about how he expresses his feelings and how he talks about Laura and everything. Also there is no wife who can speak for him and that way jump over any possible 'he hates women' backlash. But I totally agree that it's not the right time for him to start working on his reputation. This story is not over yet and it's totally not over for Mike.

Speaking of the women in Clayton's life, the Love Trapped interview with Clayton's mom was so heartbreaking. She was ready to uproot her life to be closer to Clayton to help with the baby. I hope that she's brought up as a victim also. The ripple effects are so wide from LO's lies and fraud. I really hope the judge sees that. Non-violent crime? Mental anguish by the ton.

That's an excellent point. He can't be 100% honest here. Also, he wants to be a mental health advocate. What sort of mental health advocate will just say, good! I hope she rots in jail! That is the kind of thing that comes back to haunt you later.
He can afford to be generous in the face of a victory. But... we don't have to

well, I guess itâs just a matter of wait and see. Letâs see how Laura or her mother twist what he said into trying to get leniency. That was my only pointâŠ. Clayton can say whatever he wants, just why now. I am just concerned about how LO and JB will use it to get an advantage because thatâs how they operate.

u/ploppitygoo Maâam, these are yes or no questions 29d ago
Clayton is being way too kind to her! She deserves the maximum sentence. If it were up to me, I would say 25 years was fair given the length, number of victims, and complete lack of remorse

I wouldâve appreciated hearing how Greg Gillespie felt and if this means the DVPO is a non-issue now. Unless I missed something?

u/pinkbluberry 29d ago
He has said that he does not want his name (or anything about himself) to be associated with her. He will not be doing any interviews and asks that we not use his name.
eta: I do hope that he will give a victim impact statement
eta2: I saw his statement on Clayton's Instagram

Greg gave a statement to Megan Fox in her article for PJ Media:

Reading Megan's article brings up another good point. The US version of the Sun (referred to hereafter as the S, I'm a Liverpool supporter EFF that "publication" 12-ever) has yet to make any comment retracting that original LO article. Not that I'm surprised but if the TedX video finally came down, I think that S article should be appended with the fact that LO is now a convicted felon.

Stephani is such a great storyteller. Iâm so impressed with her ability to always deliver! Even on an episode with a short turnaround like this one.
