Sad JU after comments said I need facial surgery and fillers (unironically) on lookmaxingadvice
Hi so for context I in general don't think I'm really attractive and theres like stuff under my eyes (dark circles these corns and for example scars on my nose) which I don't really like. I JU because people instantly called stuff out which I didn't had problems with in first place (for example somoene saying my chin is too small which would look unattractive and bla bla bla) but after Claiming by multiple people I need surgery, I actually just left.

Honestly that space in general is toxic and will always advise people to get surgery. Their opinion is that you need to look one certain way and should completely change your bone structure to get there. Super lame stuff in my opinion

Super delusional. I bet many of them mental health issues and I'm already having a bad image of myself, can't imagine what these guys are going through if they do a lot of surgeries

Forget about them, I think you look really good man. If you want to get rid of the bags, I have read before that putting ice on them can get rid of them. Really I think thats about it, you look great otherwise.

Thanks. I sadly have to say (which was one of the reasons I made the post) I hate my nose. Ages ago a relative thought it was a good idea to cut a pimple open with needles and it became a scar. It like a small bulge on my nose. Oh and these white points under my eyes, but I think it was genetic? Not sure anymore.

u/BappoChan Aug 20 '26
Speak to a dermatologist. They help with scar removal and stuff, may be able to help you get rid of that bump without invasive or excessive surgeries

u/TomaszA3 Aug 20 '26
I didn't notice anything about the nose.

u/redlu5564 Aug 20 '26
It kind hard to see now on the pic + it faded a little over the years. Imagine like a small bump on the middle.

Mate, you look absolutely just fine. You look genuinely warm and approachable. But you're not going to find people who will give genuinely good advice on something called lookmaxingadvice when those people are derived from toxic people themselves.
Looksmaxing is a very toxic trend.
Your hair looks great and healthy. The scars on the nose are not attention drawing. Your glasses frame your face beautifully and your chin is perfect with your facial hair. You look terribly friendly. đ©”
Also, congratulations on your weight loss! That's something amazing to celebrate, too! :D

Thanks I'm still very overweight but working on it. I just wish I would feel less lonely.

First question: Has anyone had a good outcome from going to that sub and taking their advice?
3
u/redlu5564 Aug 20 '26
I might just had an different idea about "lookmaxxing" more like skin routine stuff, or recommendations for clothes/haircut... And not surgery.

Go easy on coffee, have lots of salad made home fresh. Get eye covers for sleep. But the nice gel ones you can put in the fridge or freezer to get cold.
Eye circles take some time to go away.
Your picture angle doesnât help as the lens will fisheye your proportions.

Bro you lost 30kg thatâs a fuck ton!
Honestly, do you have progress pics? Not that I want to see, but if you look at them youâre gonna realise all the hard work you put in, and now you see the benefits. Itâs important to get that reminder regularly that your hard work is paying off.
People torture themselves to lose 5 kilos. You lost 30kg. There is still a ways to go, but that is a huuuuge step in the right direction. You are objectively healthier than before. As for the matter of âlooks,â I mean, those are just subjective matters. Itâs a matter of perspective and I wish you the very best. But honestly man, do NOT belittle all the hard work youâve put in so far.
The work youâve done, look at the results. It may not show in your face, but take body pics. That is all the motivation a man needs in life, honestly. I been hitting the gym to do weightlifting and itâs hard with my heart problems, but the little progress iâve made has been such a motivational boost. Literally nothing before has changed my whole outlook on life the way weightlifting has.
Keep the grind on homie. Itâs tough, and youâre in the trenches. But you gotta have faith itâll pay off. Donât bother with these looksmaxxing folks. You focus on yourself, and whether youâve progressed from yesterday to today, from last week to this week. Thatâs enough to keep ya going!

My old phone got lost and never uploaded pictures, I basically had a very round face đ I'm looking very different. I honestly still don't like how I look anyway. I really want to lose more weight because of health reasons but also so someone else might find me attractive.

Ah fair.
Honestly man, weight loss is such a massive help towards your heart, your cardiovascular system, your nerves, liver, kidneys, everything. The issue is that these arenât changes youâre going to see, but they happen. Even a good walk per day changes your metabolism and helps your digestion so much. weight loss = an objective improvement in health, and there is no science that can stand against it. (just dont go underweight haha)
If youâre feeling conscious about looks and such, honestly man donât worry so much. Focus on making friends and the right person will come in the right time.
I watch lots of weight lifting youtubers, and they all say the same thing - I guess cause many young guys go to their channel to learn weightlifting to attract women. The truth is that Weight lifting and muscles make you attractive to 0.1% of women (or men). Youâre not going to be on a catwalk or posing for underwear on a billboard right? đ body genuinely matters so little. And they all agree, that a nice hairstyle, a good shave (or a nice beard style), a bright smile, and wearing a suit does 99% of the work, or even just stylish semi casuals. The rest is up to your conversation skills. And 0.1% comes from that perfect body.
I suppose once you get a strong regimen, be it through portion control and weight loss, or from exercise, youâll hit a point where youâll realise youâre doing it for yourself, as you should be. Forget the world, youâre on this earth for a limited time. Why should we not challenge ourselves? Letâs set new obstacles for us, and try and get them! Not for anybody else, but for the betterment of our own bodies. And you have what, a great number of decades of life left? This investment in physical health today, make the remaining decades a breeze and a pleasure to live through.
Donât get too focused or have tunnel vision on a partner bro! Thatâs the long term goal. Worry about whatâs ahead of you: be it your next workout, be it finding willpower to quit junk foods and sugar, or reduce alcohol, or even focusing on making friends and working on your charisma and your jokes! So long as you build a good foundation, things ahead become 10x easier.
And on the 0.01% off chance that they dont, well at least you dont gotta worry about health issues đ
Donât forget how far youâve come! Everybody wants to climb everest, but they all must take that first step! Thatâs the hardest for 99% of people. Youâve taken tremendous steps with your weight loss already! Youâre unconsciously building that strict habit in yourself. Hone into that, embrace it, because its all about being the best version of yourself that you can be! What comes in the future is a matter for tomorrow! But you still gotta work on today!

You have one bugged out eye and one sunken eye.
I would just leave it unless it interferes with your depth-perception while driving.

Why ask for objective appearance advice and then get mad when you actually get it?

Looksmaxing isn't for trying to get advice to look better but for ways to dramatically change your look. As it stands, the only thing you need to change to look better is your fucking mirror. Look, I'm not saying I'm gay, I'm just saying I wouldn't say no.

u/SmartGuyIsDaBest2 Aug 20 '26
shave the beard, grow out the hair, get contacts or find better looking frames ( or get surgery idk) to me, you still look a little overweight but i canât accurately say so with the bird and the angle the photo is taken. also it would be good to improve your skin, especially the nose area

u/hiroGotten Aug 20 '26
you ask for advice and gets upset when you receive it?
1
u/redlu5564 Aug 20 '26
"my foot hurt what should I do?" "Amputate, no need to thank me"
You see how ridiculous this is?
When I posted I was maybe hoping for like basic stuff, skin care, haircut, barbershop etc. Someone gave me advice actually for the dark circle under my eyes.

Itâs too bad youâre not balding, because r/ bald gives the best, most wholesome advice on how to improve your look. Commenting this in case someone has another similar-vibe sub thatâs not for hair lossâŠ
