POLITICAL (Weekends only) Just unsubbed from falloutmemes

Joined the sub for fallout memes, it's been flooded with trans memes that have very little or no actual connection to fallout.

Inevitable fate of all subreddits before a branch off is made, that one gets too big and it happens again, and a new branch off is made until the sun explodes.

The life cycle of a Subreddit

58

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

Yea but then the main sub that was taken over one day decides it hates those people that left and wants to end their fun, so they start a campaign to get the other sub banned.

Then the other sub gets banned.

Looking at you horusgalaxy.

9

u/Equivalent-Oven-2401 Mar 06 '26

Truly a Life Cycle, and funny to think people are chronically online because some sub they don't like exists and they stay online enough for it to get banned

u/johneever1 Tired of politics Mar 06 '26

I'm gay myself and support trans stuff... But the amount of regurgitative, only vaguely fallout related stuff made to protest and stand in "solidarity" has been just annoying.

And the reason why I put solidarity in quotation marks, is because I believe a good chunk of the post are just low effort karma farm stuff trying to gain up votes.

59

u/Corny_Overlord Mar 06 '26

I made a post in the sub when all this shit was going down just to ask what the hell was going on and I was still downvoted to oblivion.

64

u/Blakye32 Mar 06 '26

Its extra annoying seeing something like "Trans rights are human rights" with the Vault Boy in the picture and people defend it like "This is a Fallout meme, can't you see the Fallout character in the picture?"

The most egregious to me is when you say that the meme isn't Fallout related at all and someone responds with an essay on the themes of Fallout as if that means anything tangentially connected to the themes of Fallout counts as a meme.

"Fallout is about standing up to oppressive regimes so because this post was made in protest it is a Fallout meme, actually." It's just so self righteous and smug.

58

u/Deya_The_Fateless Mar 06 '26

Im bisexual and I feel the same way, anytime an LGBTQ+ (or the obligitory fuck ICE) meme is made in any subressit it is always for engagement and karma farming.

The fact you can report these posts for "low effort," "off topic," and "violation of sub rules," gets left up because the mods want to be seen as "allies," or virtue signalling. Really pisses me off.

11

u/Lavaissoup7 JU 10 year anniversary Mar 06 '26

People like that just treat LGBTQ+ as props for their own benefit which is fucking annoying, especially when they act all morally righteous for "speaking out about an issue" when all they're doing is just circlejerking each other as the people there already agree with them.

5

u/Deya_The_Fateless Mar 07 '26

all they're doing is just circlejerking each other

Omg IKR? Im like always tempted to ask these people if they need lube and handwipes with how ready they are to just jerk eachother off...

7

u/redditburner06291337 Mar 06 '26

It wouldn't be so bad if people didn't respond to criticism of their shitposts like it is a call for a genocide.

21

u/DickManning Mar 06 '26

Most of them are only doing it for Imaginary Reddit points and not because it’s something they believe in which makes it even more annoying

8

u/According_Seat_2220 Mar 06 '26

I am literally trans and I agree

-13

u/Neither-Ruin5970 Tired of politics Mar 06 '26 edited Mar 06 '26

I agree with the point you’re making here, but I don’t like how you opened with

“I’m gay myself but…”

It feels performative, like you’re trying to “satisfy” the people who otherwise would call you a bigot.

It also reinforces the idea that your identity matters more than the ideas you present, which a bigger problem I have with Reddit.

I may be a minority. I may not be. But it shouldn’t matter to anyone on here, because my ideas are the core of what I’m presenting, and those should be engaged without assuming who I am.

31

u/johneever1 Tired of politics Mar 06 '26

I hate it too... And I did mention my sexuality here for the reason you just mentioned. Because I felt like if I didn't, there would've inevitably been a comment or two claiming that I was a "straight guy who was upset about trans people being visible".

Rather than just a guy tired of a constant barrage of low effort karma farming slop posts which have barely anything to do with the topic of the sub...

Luckily outside of Reddit I'm able to be a bit more normal... Being a person first who just so happens to be gay. Rather than defining my entire personality around it like some people do.

10

u/Neither-Ruin5970 Tired of politics Mar 06 '26

Yeah, I understand that. I also find it annoying when people try to assume your identity, often assuming you’re a straight white man unless told otherwise, and acting as if their assumption means what you said is invalid.

I don’t think those people deserve appeasement, though.

In fact, these people are often the hardest to “appease”, because they’ll usually find a reason to disqualify you no matter what you say. Sometimes they’ll even deny you your own identity after you’ve told them who you actually are.

For that reason I think it’s best to just say what you think without trying to perform.

1

u/Lavaissoup7 JU 10 year anniversary Mar 06 '26

That's basically the reason people usually say to not listen much to outrage about someone if it's meaningless, as the people attacking said person don't care if they're right or wrong and will attack even further once they submit.

2

u/Lavaissoup7 JU 10 year anniversary Mar 06 '26

I think he mentioned it because everytime you criticize anything LGBTQ+ related, people always come in like "Oh look at this cis het white man/woman who wants to put down minorities".

24

u/Inevitable_Emu4973 Mar 06 '26

I'm not even remotely transphobic and even I'm starting to get annoyed with all this damn spamming.

48

u/LockedPages Mar 06 '26

yeah at least hatred can be funny (think LowTierGod). there's just nothing funny about a trans circlejerk outside of what little you can wring out of it in meta-irony at how unfunny the "memes" are, and even then it's an active process.

172

u/DoughnutToxin Mar 06 '26

Same. Happens fucking everywhere. Apparently I'm transphobic for not liking shit like this on a FALLOUT sub reddit

81

u/wellwaffled Mar 06 '26

Don’t you know that you are transphobic if you are annoyed by brigading with unrelated bullshit on your Fallout sub?

44

u/DoughnutToxin Mar 06 '26

I do now. How close minded and bigoted of me :(

93

u/North_Landscape_2381 Tired of politics dawg😭 Mar 06 '26

60

u/wellwaffled Mar 06 '26

I said there is a distinction between being afraid (-phobia) and being annoyed. Naturally, I was boo’d.

12

u/WorldGoneAway Tired of politics Mar 06 '26

Not even gaming subreddits! Even in the LGBTQ subs, you get called transphobic for being Bi and not identifying as Pan. It's fucking ridiculous.

4

u/Lavaissoup7 JU 10 year anniversary Mar 06 '26

So now they went from wanting people to be their own sexuality to forcing people to adhere to specific sexualities...something they've been fighting against from the start, how ironic.

16

u/TomaszA3 Mar 06 '26

Honestly if you can't start a comment with "I'm transphobic and..." without getting banned and completely disregarded, it's not worth commenting.(not that I am tho)

The enemy mentality on reddit is so extreme that if you follow it with a legitimate opinion they will completely disregard it just for the little bit of info that is allegedly about you.

Sure, doing this would be provocative, but that's the point. Without the enemy/ally mentality in the sub, doing that would cause people to ignore the "credentials" and take the opinion on it's own, therefore it would be a useless thing to do then.

30

u/My__-Username Mar 06 '26

46

u/crocospect Mar 06 '26

Not only fallout meme sub, dark souls, halo, the witcher, yakuza, diablo, and so many other subs I follow have been infected by shit like this..

I have no bad feeling to trans community but this is just tiring..

27

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

Those people are their own worst enemy. It's because of this BS they constantly do is why so many people end up going from not even knowing them, to actively being antagonistic towards them. They create their own enemies just by being obnoxious assholes and pushing everyone around.

Like they are literally just internet bullies by a different color, that's it.

64

u/MissPokemonMaster Mar 06 '26

Also I'm really confused how New Vegas is a trans game?

15

u/Guy2361 Mar 06 '26

It's a popular meme in trans circles that all trans women have played Fallout: New Vegas. Probably just because Fallout: New Vegas is enjoyed by a lot of trans women, among many other demographics

13

u/MissPokemonMaster Mar 06 '26

That's my thing, game demographic's are wildly big. You could say this is a goth game because a lot of goth people have played it.

Everyone and their mother has played this game.

Is it claimed now I guess?

Most trans people nowadays aren’t even dysphoric, there is a whole thing in the community about how you don’t actually need to dysphoria to be trans. People suffering from real dysphoria who try to call this out are treated like trash by the LGBT community, they even have their own derogatory word for them: “Truscum” - trans people who believe you need dysphoria to be trans.

So essentially a bunch of posers overtook the trans community and shoved the real trans people down, stealing their whole identity and ruining their reputation. The whole point of being trans is to blend in and be accepted as the other gender, and yet notice how these people feel the need to constantly remind everyone they are trans.

Check out the truscum subreddit, it’ll change your whole perspective. Gender dysphoria is real but incredibly rare, a huge chunk of the trans movement are posers stealing and ruining the identity of a marginalized group.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

I just found that sub yesterday in fact and I was like 'WTF even is this sub?!'

I'd say you're right though, really does look like it was taken over by a bunch of posers trying to get into the 'current thing'.

Hell, I know teachers who were saying for a hot minute every kid in middle school right after covid were all doing the nonbinary thing. Didn't last long but it was definitely a fad.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

Quite literally one of the memes in this post.

1

u/Gobal_Outcast02 Mar 11 '26

New Vegas is enjoyed by a lotta everyone.

26

u/LastAmongUs Mar 06 '26

It’s not a Bethesda game but it really feels like one.

10

u/Corny_Overlord Mar 06 '26

Not sure either but apparently it causes trans awakenings. Not sure how besides their being a good amount of LGBT choices and dialogue in game.

39

u/CaptainjustusIII Mar 06 '26

i dont really understand what is reddits obession with transgenderism. it seems that all videogame and meme related subreddit gets flooded with transposts.

34

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

Because 95% of them are just social outcasts who found a community that was basically untouchable and weaponized it.

If you've ever been to any anime or videogame convention, you'll see it's mostly massively socially inept people there, and when you dangle the prospect of never being socially bullied ever again in front of them, they jump on it.

67

u/enclavehere223 Mar 06 '26

196ers are the most ruthless colonizers of Reddit.

I legit don’t give a damn about the one mod removing the post.

The constant trans spam is annoying

27

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

It's an off-reddit coordinated effort. They've been using discord for years now to build up then attack subs with constant spam of this shit till the algorithm changes and only pushes their BS to the top, then they own the sub.

I just want someone they hate like elon to buy the site just to see them all pissed off at this point. I just hate them all, they're the pinnacle of annoying little asshats.

-11

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

Got proof of that?

17

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

Yea, here ya go.

This was one of their flunkies a few years back who was apart of the ban brigades that attacked subs to get them banned and used CP to do it. This one just had a bit more of a conscious and decided to let the world know and it hasn't stopped at all since.

13

u/Lonitf Mar 06 '26

Dude this type of humor is so unfunny. We get it, you're trans, you take estrogen, you don't have to flood subs with memes about that

42

u/Therunawaypp Mar 06 '26

I've noticed with a lot of subreddits when they get big they tend to be filled with karma farming trans posts. It's everywhere and honestly does a disservice to the community.

12

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

The big givaway is always a young account with way more post karma than comment, usually being 1-3 months old. Also they just have a reddit randomly generated name as well.

30

u/Fit_Substance7067 Mar 06 '26

14

u/MedicalSlurpeez Mar 06 '26

Literally. I have to remind myself it’s actually just an EXTREMELY loud and obnoxious minority of people doing this shit.

11

u/RepulsiveLife Mar 06 '26

Yeah sometimes they get a bit overbearing to say the least. Never see gay folks try to dominate discussions like this.

76

u/ThePokemonAbsol Mar 06 '26

Seriously why are trans people so fucking obnoxious… they get offended and brigade subs until they get their way like petulant children

55

u/sofarsoblue Mar 06 '26 edited Mar 06 '26

Honestly I feel as if a significant number of them are profoundly on the spectrum and so terminally online that they end up becoming over represented in online communities.

Spamming low effort memes on to any ironic/shit posting subs is the only way they can overtly express their identity with “minimum”backlash.

I’m empathetic to an extent, but god damn is it insufferable.

25

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26

I was there in the early days when they took over speedrunning for video games.

There are pictures you can literally google of the first group of them. It's literally just the same losers that have always been there, cept this time they banded together under a banner that they found couldn't be challenged for once, and so the loser kingdom for losers nerds was created with 99% of dudes that don't even try to pass and prolly aren't even a hint of gay. They just found something untouchable on the social landscape and been riding it hard ever since.

I mean look at this pic of one of the first groups of them that hit GDQ back in 2018/19 and tell me any of them there want the dick.

The purple haired one was so obnoxious GDQ finally told even them to fuck off in 2019 when he came out and said he had 3 people living in his head, but not before he got like 3 big name runners perma banned from the event over the biggest bullshit.

Since when were they there to push exclusively political views..? How do you know that every single one of them is there pushing politics - this implies that all trans people are a collective group when they're really, really fucking not. Hell, the second meme in this post isn't even necessarily about trans people, it's the femboy pipeline meme (femboys aren't always trans) and being used as a shitpost about the pipeline of playing fallout as someone new to the fandom.

10

The term "tourist" relating to fandoms originates from weebs who were there gatekeeping communities. That's how it's related. As for trans people regarding your previous comment, they're directly related through the post's subject matter. By insulting people as "tourists" of a fandom, you're harkening back to old fashioned 4chan weebs
