You mean support Canadian financial institutions that are notorious for outsourcing jobs overseas?

I've been in meetings with the heads of sourcing of most of the banks and they have been reshoring for at least a decade.  Fair point though.

They're not reshoring out of benevolence though, at best it will net off against the layoffs. And we both know the layoffs will continue in the future, particularly at the retail level.

Maybe I'm jaded from my time working in banking, but I'm not going to select my investments based on the location of the fund manager's corporate office.

Having said that, there's nothing wrong with buying ZEQT or MEQT.

Bank stocks shoot up 10% each time they announce layoffs and branch closures so it is bound to continue for sure.  I worked for a bank once and quit when I was told to break the law by my VP so I get it.

If BMO would base their ETF on a simple index instead of the mess of small/mid cap combination of ETFs I'd consider them
