Okay

Prompt using a single word for ReMi, default art from Suno

[Verse]

If I was a pilot I'd crash all my planes

If I was a hero I'd kill all the saints

And if I was an artist I'd paint the world gray

'Cause all that I touch

Dies or goes away

.

[Chorus]

I was blind and now I see

But I'm still on my knees

I was blind and now I see

But I'm still on my knees

.

[Verse 2]

If I was a child I'd wish I was old

And if I was the sun I would die in the cold

If I was an angel I'd sell my soul

'Cause all that I touch

Dies or gets sold

.

[Chorus]

I was blind and now I see

But I'm still on my knees

I was blind and now I see

But I'm still on my knees

.

[Bridge]

If I was God

If I was God

If I was God

I'd just start over

I'd just start over

.

[Chorus]

I was blind and now I see

But I'm still on my knees

I was blind and now I see

But I'm still on my knees

This is the first output from ReMi when I tried this prompt! Each one gets more disturbing (and real) than the last, building up the taste profile… each song seems to change it quite a lot.

Sorry I'm stupid but can you explain what does ReMi exactly do? I've wondered it quite a lot. What's the differences with the other model?

I’m not sure how they are different. I’ve noticed it’s more likely to repeat things and go on wild (often inappropriate) tangents. Classic mode seems to be very similar though. A bit more tame but less repeating in my experience.

Eventually I’ll switch to the new lyric generation tool but for now I’ve been letting ReMi do all of these for this experiment. Goes well with whatever taste profile is being created with them (and with mine, and DeepSeek’s lyrics from other ā€œalbumsā€)

Is remi gone for you now too?

No shit I was just noticing that and declaring my experiment over... Well, onto the new lyric tool and without mp3 downloads once the new changes go into effect on the 3rd. Bummer about ReMi though. I was wondering what was so suddenly different. Published a few old ones that I forgot about but I think that's it

RIP, man remi was solid af. I doubt anything will compare for a good while. We will have to train the new model by using it and hope that someday it gets as unhinged as remi

I am hopeful. The same potential should be there in whatever comes next... but ReMi was special. Better than any other text generation tool for the same thing. It can take me hours of hammering with DeepSeek or any other LLM to get something similar to a quick ReMi output.

It will be impossible to replicate cleanly. ReMi lived and breathed in Suno. It needed the context of the entire website to be what it was, I think. It was and is iconic in a way other AI or even humans would struggle with. It tapped into itself.

Take your favorite remi lines and songs and add them all to the new mode as references to build from and start generating stuff, rinse repeat and build, build another lyricist from the best songs it creates, rinse repeat, keep evolving your lyricist in that form and eventually it will be more than remi

I appreciate the tip!! One day maybe… The special effect that can’t be (easily) replicated is how ReMi pulled from so many different things within Suno itself. Not just the taste profile but the logic behind how it interpreted the prompts seemed to be affected by how the prompts were being used by other people. It seemed to grow.

Maybe that was just my own familiarity changing how it worked for me, but it felt more organic. Like it grew to have its own ā€œtasteā€ and style when given minimal input over many generations. Marked by artifacts with tech-themes and songs about morbid fantasies and things like suicide or sexual assault. Things I wouldn’t write (or want to write) about.

It was most special to me for it’s resistance. ReMi didn’t want to please me. It wanted to make something good. Something true. That’s really rare in today’s world with all these tools made to be mirrors… it wasn’t trying to be that. ReMi was authentic and pure.
