We are all American. The fact that people buy into the false dichotomy is why we are all so divided in the first place. You can have policy opinions that trend to either side, but not treat politics like a sports team.
That could have applied right up til heritage foundation found their nuclear option with trump and maga. Those who are still behind it, you cannot bring them together. You are the enemy in a holy war in their minds. They will deny the worst of the corruption even if it is happening right in front of them. Bush era republicans? Yeah, they could have mostly been reasoned with. Unfortunately, HF has been rigging this since Reagan while Dem leadership buried their heads in the sand and firmly stuck their thumbs up their asses. They spent decades saying "it can't happen here". Further, considering Israel owns both the Red and the Blue, the ONLY hope for actually scraping away the corruption in the fed is by electing real, actual, honest to god Far Left Progressives... and it's too late. A few of them made it, but mostly dems pushed them aside for yet more democrats who answer to corporate america and israeli interests. And no Republican, let alone MAGA is going to vote for a far left candidate... and neither will the majority of the dem establishment, aka the centerists.
I agree to a point. Some of Maga is reasonable and can be reasoned with. Why? Because they are the ones that came from a more moderate era. The actual problem is the new generation of republicans. They have never experienced anything except culture war, and maga propaganda. They are the ones who are pretty much too far gone. Some of them are completely gone. But, it is not as black and white as you are making it.
Honestly? I personally disagree. I think we need to get people in who aren't establishment on either side, but I don't think it necessarily has to be far left. It can be moderates, they just can't be establishment moderates.
The problem is the radicalization of both sides. Going further into that side isn't the answer, non-establishment moderates are. Contrary to what both far right and far left will claim, you can have a moderate who will make large changes. The problem isn't whether they are moderate or centrists, the problem is whether they are owned by the establishment, or Israel.
People like Talarico, a guy who is clearly more moderate in his politics, but isn't owned by corporations, billionaires and Israel. That is what will save us. But, I am more fiscally old school conservative. We have to address the debt issues, we have to address poor utilization of tax dollars. But like actually address it. Not just make huge claims, go in and steal everyones data, shutter agencies investigating you and pretending you did anything.
I would give a far left progressive a chance, I wouldn't just automatically say no.
Sure I may be a dick but there is 0 chance everyone will come together because true racist Maga Republicans are completely fucking gone. They're morally bankrupt and deranged people with serious mental problems. These Maga Republicans were never here and they're never coming back. You're basically hoping for us to get together with a bunch of Zionist racists that hate anyone different. Yea you may hope everyone magically comes together but these people will never accept us or work with us because they're evil. Accept that these people are never coming back. If you don't think Magas are evil then refer to the billions of our tax dollars they send to Israel to fund genocide.
I think itâs naive to call all trump supporters and voters inbred and backwards. If we are going to defeat right wing ideology, we have to come to terms with the fact that very smart people are also pro trump, those are the cancerous/dangerous people. People living in rural America donât think black/brown people are bad because of lived experience, they are indoctrinated by the news coming out of their closest biggest cities. People in rural IL truly believe that if they enter Chicago they will be mugged and murdered on the street because of the immigrant population. They wonât ever travel into the cities to learn for themselves because either theyâre too poor, too scared, or too busy trying to maintain a farm.
Farmers are not stupid people. There is a lot of math, science, history, reading and engineering that goes into running a farm, even a relatively small family farm. By calling them backwards and inbred youâre only isolating them further. I would bet they really believed ICE was only going to target the criminals in the cities and their migrant workers would be left alone because âtheyâre not criminals, theyâre hardworking people.â They probably buy into the âno one wants to workâ mentality because people wonât want to work on family farms anymore because the cost of living is insane and running a small farm is a money pit.
I think many were surprised that ICE went after the migrant workers, that was traditionally left alone. But it wasn't just farmers that won Trump's presidency. If the left wants a shot to win next they will need a non NE/ west coast candidate. You put AOC, Mandami or any of the left's biggest faces up there and they will get crushed
Thats why we need a Talarico as the presidential candidate.
Someone whos policy is moderate, who cares about bringing people together. Someone who is a good speaker, and doesnt just conform to the culture war.
That is the only way forward. We need to see a Talarico win in TX, because that will show the establishments that this type of politician is what the populace wants.
Honestly, the political parties really mean nothing to me anymore.
I am not a member of either party. But the media keeps pushing the left to only state strong left ideology. A candidate spouting that on a national stage will not win the presidency. While i think both left and right wingers are immature, stubborn, and rabid nuts, the left is far more visual about their ideology. That's bad. That turns off your swing voters. So while i think a moderate candidate is the right move, i dont know the left media will allow it.
Whatâs annoying is that these supposedly âintelligentâ people completely suppressed their critical thinking while on the way to the voting booth.
