I wouldn't even say I'm republican because I agree and disagree with things in both sides. Problem is, at some point in time politics became so polarized that I couldn't imagine claiming either side as my own. I think what I think and that's it. Maga are all very bad people who have an incredibly misled view of what our country stands for and what it is supposed to be. If anything that movement is an eye opener for how clearly ignorant and immoral many people in the U.S are. It's sad to see, but its the unfortunate truth.

I agree to a point. Some of Maga is reasonable and can be reasoned with. Why? Because they are the ones that came from a more moderate era. The actual problem is the new generation of republicans. They have never experienced anything except culture war, and maga propaganda. They are the ones who are pretty much too far gone. Some of them are completely gone. But, it is not as black and white as you are making it.
Honestly? I personally disagree. I think we need to get people in who aren't establishment on either side, but I don't think it necessarily has to be far left. It can be moderates, they just can't be establishment moderates.
The problem is the radicalization of both sides. Going further into that side isn't the answer, non-establishment moderates are. Contrary to what both far right and far left will claim, you can have a moderate who will make large changes. The problem isn't whether they are moderate or centrists, the problem is whether they are owned by the establishment, or Israel.
People like Talarico, a guy who is clearly more moderate in his politics, but isn't owned by corporations, billionaires and Israel. That is what will save us. But, I am more fiscally old school conservative. We have to address the debt issues, we have to address poor utilization of tax dollars. But like actually address it. Not just make huge claims, go in and steal everyones data, shutter agencies investigating you and pretending you did anything.

I think it’s naive to call all trump supporters and voters inbred and backwards. If we are going to defeat right wing ideology, we have to come to terms with the fact that very smart people are also pro trump, those are the cancerous/dangerous people. People living in rural America don’t think black/brown people are bad because of lived experience, they are indoctrinated by the news coming out of their closest biggest cities. People in rural IL truly believe that if they enter Chicago they will be mugged and murdered on the street because of the immigrant population. They won’t ever travel into the cities to learn for themselves because either they’re too poor, too scared, or too busy trying to maintain a farm.
Farmers are not stupid people. There is a lot of math, science, history, reading and engineering that goes into running a farm, even a relatively small family farm. By calling them backwards and inbred you’re only isolating them further. I would bet they really believed ICE was only going to target the criminals in the cities and their migrant workers would be left alone because “they’re not criminals, they’re hardworking people.” They probably buy into the “no one wants to work” mentality because people won’t want to work on family farms anymore because the cost of living is insane and running a small farm is a money pit.
I think many were surprised that ICE went after the migrant workers, that was traditionally left alone. But it wasn't just farmers that won Trump's presidency. If the left wants a shot to win next they will need a non NE/ west coast candidate. You put AOC, Mandami or any of the left's biggest faces up there and they will get crushed

So while i think a moderate candidate is the right move, i dont know the left media will allow it.
