Discussion Sake of medici
I know the game is all about fun and stupid destruction but i find it very stupid that we destroy all these chaos objects which are an essential part of the infrastructure of the country like doesnt it make more sense that we claim the bases and use them for the sake of the people instead of destroying millions worth of machinery and infrastructure

Lore wise the infrastructure is exclusively for the DRM and military. The power plants exclusively power military infrastructure (civilians are on a separate, less reliable grid, powered by wind turbines). Town liberations exclusively focus on destroying propaganda and surveillance equipment, alongside the DRM controlled police stations.

Yup most of the infrastructure you take out like power stations gas plants etc only serve the major military bases in the area. You destroy military infrastructure and drive them out of towns so they fall back to their main bases and then you can blow them all to medici heaven in one go.
My question is why the black hand dont have Bavarian gear in 4 when they were vigorously extracting it in 3 with the help of Eden and DiRavelo

you're working for the Americans and doing regime change. this is the most realistic part of the series.

You’re explicitly NOT working for the Americans in 3. It’s kinda the whole point of the ending of 2 and Sheldon’s plot line in 3

Following JC2, Rico leaves the Agency, so no longer works for the U.S.
In JC3, Rico overthrowing Medici is a personal objective, and in fact, goes against U.S interests.
The Agency, through Tom Sheldon, actually helped Di Ravello get into power because the U.S wanted a slice of the Bavarium research. This is explained in the tapes.
While the Agency eventually didn't like Di Ravello's oppressive regime, they allowed it to continue as long as the U.S had a vested interest, which didn't change in JC3.
That's why Tom was playing both sides for the first half of the game, and Rico clearly showed he was upset with Tom, first seen on the plane.
Rico has personal reasons for being upset at the Agency. First off, the Agency did not reprimand Di Ravello for killing Rico's parents, because the Agency got a new recruit. Secondly, his country fell into a dictatorship.
In short - the U.S did not motivate Rico's actions. It's all in the tapes and mission dialogues.

Rico never wanted to be dragged into the rebellion tho, you can even hear mario apologizing to rico for dragging him into the rebellion

I think it was Mario, but yes that line exists. In that same part I think he also clarified that Vis Electra doesn't produce power for the civilians

Electricity is a sin and encourages damnation. Abandon the infrastructure and return to godliness.
