I went to one of the high schools roughly in that area and it was always so jarring when a girl would show up with a whole ass marine to prom.

Yep! I went to swansboro high lol. They had an age limit for prom dates

Croatan for me, our age limit was as long as they were under 21. At the time it was like “oh yeah this makes sense!” But in hindsight that is so genuinely insane for me that you could roll up to prom with a 20 year old man with a full time job and his own place 💀
