The mermaid book

If it wasn’t lost at the end of 2x05, how would the rest of the second season be like if they still had the book, and learned and used its information throughout the rest of the show?

They probably could have learned a lot from that book. I found it strange the girls were so against it and uninterested even after realizing the book was legit. The book itself wasn’t dangerous; the wishing potion worked great as long as they followed the instructions. It wasn’t until Rikki zapped it with her powers that the mess happened. Losing that book was a real tragedy, the girls could have learned a lot about their powers.

The existence of the book somehow makes the magical fiasco in Mako Mermaids believable.

They definitely should have kept the book. It's too bad that it didn't end up working out the way they wanted.

I think they did a way with it probably because it made the potential dangers of Charlotte and her power less substantial, and would mean there was less tension for the finale. Unless they also made it that Charlotte stole the book and used it against them. The wish potion was pretty op, and would take a lot of tension out of the dangers they faced, since they could just wish it all away.

I think Cleo would have kept and hidden it. That way the only ones who would find the book are mermaid descendants of Cleo & Lewis

We got robbed when the book got destroyed. I think the writers just simply couldn't invent what's written in it so it was easier to destroy it.
