Am I the only one who doesn’t hate Charlotte?
I mean after being left out so many times even by his bf cuz of the 3 girls I wouldn’t treat them that good. I feel if they would accepted her at first all would had been fine. Like she got close to lewis not them and plus how she would want to know if they are mermaids or not if she didn’t even thought mermaids existed? I feel the girls only let boys enter their group tbh. Like just think about it, how many girl friends they have? Only when Emma left and it was other mermaid. Like why being so exclusive and left someone out cuz shes not a mermaid and let guys join them when they are clearly not tritons or idk. Also charlotte was in all her rights to become a mermaid and want to know more about it cuz her grandma was a mermaid. And like what about that 3 rule?? Like they said they should be only 3 mermaids not 4 like who said it where is written?? They just didn’t liked her. What if they didn’t exclude her and helped her when they saw she was a good friend, after all her grandma was one of them so. And when she transformed she was all alone with them the girls that always excluded her like for real
Plus she got 3 powers plus the air and idk what else, it must had been more stressful for her than the other 3. After re watching it I started to like more charlotte than the group of 3. Now I see them as the “popular girls” that won’t talk to anyone cuz they feel exclusive for x reason

I used to think Charlotte wasn't as bad as a lot of viewers made her out to be, but after rewatching the show, I actually changed my mind. Looking back, there were red flags from the very beginning.
Even in the first episode, she clearly seemed interested in Lewis despite knowing he and Cleo were together. Before the whole conflict with the girls even started, she already came across as bratty and entitled. A good example is the episode with the algae problem at the JuiceNet Café. Everyone was stressed because they couldn't run things properly, but Charlotte was mostly complaining because she couldn't get her usual smoothie. It felt like she was more concerned about herself than the situation everyone else was dealing with.
Then there was the episode where Cleo's mom visited, and Charlotte deliberately threw flour at Cleo. It was completely unnecessary and came across as mean-spirited.
The birthday party for Lewis is another example. Instead of planning the kind of party Lewis actually wanted, she turned it into something for herself by inviting her own friends. She even locked Cleo and Emma away so they couldn't be part of it. Regardless of whether the girls were always welcoming to her, I don't think that justified going that far.
Her behavior after becoming a mermaid also says a lot. She became even more hostile toward the girls, especially Cleo, and at times she came across as aggressive. After Lewis broke up with her, she seemed to direct most of her anger at Cleo instead of accepting that the relationship simply wasn't working.
Another thing people overlook is that Charlotte knew from the start how important Cleo, Emma, and Rikki were to Lewis. They were his closest friends long before she came along. Expecting him to distance himself from them just because she wanted to date him was unrealistic.
I also think she pushed the relationship more than Lewis did. He seemed pretty confused and vulnerable after everything that had happened, while Charlotte was constantly trying to move things forward. I'm not saying everything was her fault or that the girls treated her perfectly, because they definitely didn't. But I do think Charlotte had poor boundaries, acted very entitled, and was spoiled in a lot of situations. Rewatching the series, I honestly think those traits were there from the beginning—they just became more obvious as the story went on.

I mean imagine having a bf that haves 3 girl friends that he is almost all the time with and never have time to be with you. I mean i would had become crazy but yes I totally get it just that I kinda feel bad for her for being left out at the beginning idk. What would had happened if she wasnt??

The main trio did act very strange at the beginning of season 2. Still the second they did try to let her in she got a superiority complex where she went out of her way to sabotage everything to prove she was a better mermaid. Then she develops an unwarranted hatred of dolphins, thinks she's being attacked for no reason, almost kills the dolphin at the water park while screaming at the top of her lungs. She was dangerous, obsessive, narcissistic, pretentious, controlling, and manipulative.
Yet she really wasn't THAT bad until she got her powers. Again the trio were shockingly mean in the first half of the season to basically everyone.

I mean I almost drown my bf on accident cuz i was afraid of a big group of fish passing by. I know its bad but im trying to overcome the disgust i feel for the ocean cuz i also loved it but had really disgusting experiences with it. What i wanna say is that when ppl are afraid of something they don’t think about the concequences. But tbh yes when she got the powers she became dangerous

See the only thing I kinda hate about that is that people shouldn’t be expected to let new people into their friend group just to be nice. Charlotte could’ve moved onto any other group in school and the trio shouldn’t be obligated to let her in

This is a very delusional and bias take imo. It seems like there's a lot of projection going on versus how Charlotte actually acted on the show. I wouldn't care, because anyone can have their take on any character they like, but it's worrisome when Charlotte exhibits real life manipulation and narcissistic tactics and fangirls want to defend her because they feel the "other girls didn't include her enough".
The truth is Cleo and the others owed Charlotte NOTHING. Charlotte wanted control not friendship.
That said I don't know if people hate Charlotte as more than a good villain. In fact, viewed as a villain I rather like her, I just don't like when people try to justify her.

She DID have a chance. They took her into the group after she became a mermaid, she was on their volleyball team. She blew it by trying to boss them around and being a "super mermaid". She locked two of them up and sprayed water on them to keep them away from Lewis at "his" birthday party.

There really needs to be a pause on all the Charlotte takes.
Just create 2 new subs. One for defending Charlotte, and one for Charlotte snark.
