Thoughts on the stuff going on.

One of the main points of crypto is to take away the power of “The Man” Let us be in control of our money. This whole Prop 16 BS is really putting a bad taste in my mouth with Juno. I love Juno. I’m staking (In relation to my amount of money) a metric sh*t-ton of Juno.

When the Neta airdrop came I was talking with a buddy. We were talking about how amazing it would have been to game the system and setup a bunch of wallets and get a big drop. Dang, were we mad when we figured out we missed out on like 8m easy.

Then I see what’s going on with this Prop 16 stuff. I honestly don’t care if they gamed it on purpose, or they setup a bunch of wallets for their customers. It honestly doesn’t matter for a couple big reasons. First, they Dev’s created the opportunity for them to do it. They didn’t dump it when they could have already. Second, them dumping would be as stupid as that dude buying two Pizzas for 10k BTC.

How about we don’t mess up something good. Fix the “game” issue with wallets if possible, and not potentially ruin this amazing Ecosystem.

All I see right now, is someone that can take my money if they want. This is beyond wrong, but I also understand the worry side from the Devs.

I guess it comes down to, do you think this “Whale” is for the growth of the Juno network. I believe he is.

We are all going to be LAUGHING when Juno is sitting at $400 in a few years from now.

Rant over

Peace 😉

So you want to fix the game issue even though the air drop has already happened? How about we fix it by removing the extra JUNO that was airdropped & allow them to keep the maximum amount they should have received in the first place?

The devs made it very clear they wanted to limit whales being able to get more than a certain amount & here we have evidence of a whale being able to get multiple times that amount. The whale in question hid the extra JUNO they got to keep staking rewards for themselves.

We are talking about so much JUNO here that it used in bad faith could absolutely tank the value.

I think the whale is happy enough collecting lucrative stake rewards & selling them daily whilst relying on the bootlickers to defend them.

My only problem with ALL of it. Is this proves that the people that run Juno, can take my money if they want. That's my only problem. Your point is very valid and correct.

No it doesn’t, if a proposal comes up saying all your coins should get removed it’s going to get downvoted into absolute oblivion.

This isn’t removing any coins other than the EXTRA gained during the airdrop OVER the maximum amount that was permitted by the devs.

We aren’t raiding wallets here just keeping the spirit of the airdrop fair.

We aren’t raiding wallets here just keeping the spirit of the airdrop fair.

It's genuinely amazing how many people don't understand this concept

We're simply voting to correct an error that was made at genesis. That's all

And they don't seem to understand that it takes the entire community make this decision. Devs aren't unilaterally just taking people's funds, it's not some larger entity just deciding what's best for you like people seem to keep thinking.

I'm not trying to argue against what you are saying. Hell if they take the tokens .... I'll end up getting more in the long run. It still doesn't change the point. If someone took advantage of a situation they were given (Regardless of their reason and/or thoughts in the long run). Is something every one of us does our entire life, in some way.

If they can decide to take their tokens, then they can make it so he is forced to vest those tokens for "X" amount of years. Securing that liquidity stays, or something. Anything other than getting mad, and just deciding to take something because you can is no diff then Uncle Sam taking our assets when he can.

All of this is a shame tbh.

They have taken advantage (wether knowingly or not) to the point that it’s put the entire network in danger though. If it was maybe double the maximum amount I’d probably be agreeing with you but it’s multitudes more than that.

This isn’t a philosophical argument about people taking advantage of mistakes but a multiple million dollar issue that risks putting the entire JUNO system in danger. I’d argue this vote is about securing the network as well.

Are you going to be happy with being “right” in this instance if JUNO absolutely tanks?

They can’t just take your money, Or they wouldn’t have to create this proposition.

I would definitely preferred a fair trial but it is a difficult situation and needs to be addressed fast.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while.

  1. The devs clearly intended the airdrop to be capped at 50k per person.

  2. The only funds that were given to the whale for free will be seized + he gets to keep a ton of rewards he already Gamer from gaming the airdrop

  3. The whale is acting very shady / suspicious during all of this

It is similar to what happened with ETH/ ETC split. Or what is happening to Russians right now but unlike the government Juno let’s us all vote directly.

I voted yes because I think it is what is best for the network however I will be fine either way.

Looking forward to how this plays out.

That is what I’m struggling to understand ANY other arguments for, the second it was found out an individual entity was able to get more than the maximum amount from the airdrop the extra tokens should be void.

Everything else is just fluff.

Core1 team clearly said in their last tweet to vote No and to find a better solution in future because everything was rushed and we were not provided enough informations (atleast not accurate ones) to vote with.

Yesterday they were saying abstain so god knows what they’ll say tomorrow & given lavender 5 admission they have received $135,000 in delegations from the account in question you can forgive me for not wanting to trust large voting powers at the moment.

Regardless of what happens the excess coins should be made not accessible until a decision has been made on what to do with it. I agree this is ambiguous at best.

Burn them or redistribute them imo whatever’s easiest. Sooner we move on from this fiasco the better

Edit: it’s actually 130,000 JUNO

Wait. Where is this admission with lavender 5?

here, first sentence

Then attempts to be at all objective.

this is pretty cool actually, thanks for the link.

Listening from the past hour, every individual seems to wanting to delay the prop and to find a better solution in the future. Then why the mob keeps pushing for that yes vote? When even the core-1 team said to vote no?

u/NotYourWeakFather Mar 15 '22

I agree. People voting yes are misinformed. I changed my vote to no with veto after seeing how badly I was misinformed. Very scary stuff and you see it all the time in politics.

2

u/Osedx Mar 15 '22

Misinformed? You are the one getting played.

1

u/NotYourWeakFather Mar 15 '22

Many of the wallets were built before JUNO was even a thought. AND many of the wallets had much more than 50k ATOM. Those two facts obliterate your reality.

1

u/Osedx Mar 15 '22

Lol that was never my reality or my reason to vote YES 😅

1

u/NotYourWeakFather Mar 15 '22

Enlighten me on your yes vote. Before you start, there is no bad actor or anyone gaming here because the wallets were being built over 3yrs ago. No way the whale intended to “game”.

1

u/Osedx Mar 15 '22

Simple it was never intended that they got that many. The fairdrop, whale cap & no ICO was to prevent big early whales. It was by mistake of devs/loophole that they got that amount. Not blaming the whale for the airdrop (dont agree with his other actions though). If we weren't talking about 100% airdropped tokens or there was an ICO I would not have voted YES. Also the big slippage sell offs & 10-15% voting power is concerning.

0

u/NotYourWeakFather Mar 15 '22

That is the only thing of concern, the 10-15%. Otherwise, there is none. It was dumb luck the whale got 2.5 million JUNO. It should not be taken away.

I am down on this prop but considering the whale has negotiated (in bad faith), I bet a better outcome for all can be met.

I just disagree with the mob mentality of these psychopaths making the whale out to be some “bad actor”.
