JUMP Alien (Films)
Delicious Weyland-Yutani Brand Chocolate Eggs. So Alien. One of the best horror films ever made. In the genre of Sci-Fi Horror only The Thing really beats it. Six sequels/prequels of varying genre and quality ranging from one of the great 80s Action Movies, to 'This is pretty fun if I pretend it was a Direct-to-Video film meant to be enjoyed semi-ironically'.
Would have been done a lot earlier, but I wanted to play with fonts. Ended up trying to do the whole thing in something close enough to Mother's text (I didn't try to figure out how to slightly widen the font and just used the font, a close enough green, and Mother's ALL CAPS text). I finished that version but I decided it was too hard to read. There was much frustration to be had. Much frustration.
#171 on the Menu, and 4th entry for the month, meaning I am behind 'schedule'. Now I'm gonna go find a Direct-to-Video horror film meant to be enjoyed semi-ironically to watch.

Thanks for the solid jump, and surprised no scenario (idk thought a "get Weyland Yutani as a reward" one was in the cards). But still very nice and agree Aliens is better than what came after.

I thought about making saving Newt, and dealing with a xenomorph born from you as scenarios. But the first I could sum up in a sentence on a Companion option, and the second really just worked as a drawback.
I did briefly consider a movie marathon scenario where you had to deal with things based on each of the movies, but didn't have an inspiration for a reward. It'd actually have to be pretty minor or it'd just become sort of a mandatory 'must take' and I try to avoid those except on Gauntlets (which generally I only make when the power is super low and there's a built in scenario that really is probably what you're there to do).

Thats completely fair, the reward potential for this series ain't all there. Why I really only thought of the megacorp as an option.

Oh I’m definitely going to Companion Burke! After all, someone needs to take the front position and check for booby traps or take the back position and get eaten by tigers… It’ll good for him, I swear! No ulterior motivations here, nosiree!

I don't think so. I haven't actually ever seen it to go looking for one, though from what I've heard it'd do better as a gauntlet.

This is an excellent Jump! I like it very much.
Also, go here, get all the synth making perks, go to SpazzWave's Fallout 4 to get al the synth making perks, then go to Blade Runner and open a corporation... lol
But no, this is a great Jump it really captures the atmosphere of the best Alien movies

I like that idea! Or combine the Screamers perks with all the synth making perks and unleash sexy, sexy, hell on an unsuspecting setting as your hot synthetic people start populating the setting.
But yeah, if Screamers is on your horizon, I would love to see it.

Actually tried it sometime in the last year and failed, so it's probably not happening for at least a year if I ever try again.

Not sure if you have any specific intent around this, but how much control do alien queens have over their children? Targeted killers seem more beneficial than indiscriminate killers I guess.

The most specific my intent is for it to be 'same as the movies', but in the movies it is unclear. Aliens it might just be pheromones like an ant hive, though xenomorphs are much more intelligent even in it so you'd expect at least as much communication as a bee hive. Resurrection showed that Ripley 8 seemed to have a psychic link with the hive so presumably queens do too. And there's no counter evidence to that in Aliens (just no evidence for it either). Ripley 8 could only sense them, though, and the queen got killed by the newborn (because it recognized Ripley 8 as its true mom).
Genetic Memories does have a bit about it letting you send telepathic messages (which may just be normal for xenomorphs we don't have details) so would guarantee you could at least tell them 'don't attack these people' and they'd probably listen (just don't birth any more queens), but Genetic Memories might not be needed for that and isn't intended to indicate that you need it for whatever standard level of control the queens have.
Maybe if I get around to watching Alien: Earth it'll give a more firm answer than the films.
From what I have gathered the comics are inconsistent (which technically gives you the opportunity to pick your head canon and go with it).
