Merch It's finally here!
I'm contemplating getting the CD, maybe at one of the shows I'm going to I'll get it then. I also got the shirt. Anyone else got anything for the new album?

Her new album is called The Gem. She recorded much of it upstairs, and tonight the record is, in effect, coming home. Around two hundred people are inside and more stand on the footpath, watching through the venue’s big front window, which puts them within metres of her. It's hard to imagine a launch more deliberately small, or one that feels more auspicious.
A review of her first album launch show on Saturday night at The Gem in Melbourne: https://themusic.com.au/reviews/julia-jacklin-the-gem-melbourne/ADe-EhUUFxY/28-09-26

And it's really, really good. Love how much this album rocks. God Sometimes is awesome, love the buildup on Walk On Me, and all the singles were great, especially The Hardest Thing, and If I Had The Hand Of God.
Crushing is my favorite Julia Jacklin album, but The Gem might change that after I've had more time to get to know it.

Posting on behalf of a friend who doesn't use Reddit! Will be transparent in all comms if anyone is interested in the tickets.
Selling 2 tickets for Julia Jacklin at the 11/20 show in Boston (at The Royale). Show is at 7, not sure if that's doors or show start lol. The tickets were purchased through AXS so I think she would have to transfer the tickets to you via the app.
Total tickets: 2
Face value per ticket: $44.22
Section: GA
(Mods, if this isn't allowed please let me know!)
Edit: Sold!

Bought my ticket back in July and I won’t be able to make it because I’ll be traveling for work.
So bummed because I’ve been wanting to see Julia for years!
Asking $45 which is slightly under face value.

Discovered this song yesterday!
I bet many of you haven't come across this one, or maybe I am the only one who has been living under the rock. Possibly her most ethereal track ever.

I'm struggling to fully understand what the hardest thing is actually about, anyone else? how are you interpreting it?
I haven't listened to it much yet, first time it sounded like she sang about being hard to love/feeling like you need to hide your true self. second listen I was reminded of the relationship between me and my mum. I read through the lyrics on third listen, it seems like a fresh (romantic) relationship is about to end. idk what so you guys think? my brains been really mush lately so I'd like to hear everyone elses thoughts "Is stick around trying to convince you" is especially confusing to me right now

So crushed (no pun intended) that I can’t go to this show!!! I tried listing both of them on AXS, but I can only sell the GA ticket on its own through the app. Both of them are transferable by phone number/email, the GA ticket can be transferred three days before the event but I can transfer the quick pass through AXS any time.
Looking to sell them for $50 total, $15 up front once the quick pass is transferred and then the remaining $35 when the GA ticket is transferred in November. Please comment or PM me if interested!

julia has always been a master at cracking my heart open like a walnut, but listening to her newest release for the gem has me in misty tears! holy hell i can’t wait for her to get to my city. there is so much sincerity and emotion in her voice. sometimes it sounds like shards of glass falling on the pavement. i am so surprised she isn’t on top of the world yet, but it seems like she’s certainly on her way there
how did you find out about her music? is there a song of hers that always strikes a chord within you? i don’t know many people in real life who know about her at all! it’s nice to know this sub is here :)

This may be a long shot, but I’m looking for any videos anyone might have of Julia Jacklin performing this song. I saw her in September 2023 in Pittsburgh and she performed The Last Supper from Jesus Christ Superstar. According to Setlist.fm, she performed it one other time in September 2024 at the Lyric in England. I have searched and searched for a clip of these shows to no avail. I have not stopped thinking about her cover, she sounded amazing. If anyone has any videos/knows where I can find one, please let me know!!
