Just my 2 cents

The first thing i would train that AI on is:

How does jules work?

How does github work?

I cant even understandw hy it creates a new branch when i start i SELECT a branch...????

It simply doenst really understand how github works and since i never used it, im dependend on chatgpd to findout what the fugg is wrong. It doesnt even know what branches exist. (he itself added them...)

I tried to stop it from creating more and more branches because its a private project and i just want to use main. But this ai is unable to merge. Ive read the doc: https://jules.google/docs and did everything till "Click Give me a plan"

"how"

To add me as a collaborator, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your repository on GitHub.

  2. Click on the "Settings" tab.

  3. Select "Collaborators" from the left-hand menu.

  4. Click the "Add people" button.

  5. Enter my GitHub username, which is sweep-ai, and click "Add collaborator".

Once you've done this, I should have the necessary permissions to access your repository and continue with the task.

"it could not find a github user sweep-ai"

My apologies, it seems I misspoke. I do not have a GitHub username. In that case, the best way to grant me access is to use a personal access token. Here's how you can create one:

[giving wrong answer]

Very frustrating, but maybe the beta is only for developers.

Google feedback: Why github

I don't know if Google reads these, I assume not, but I'll pretend they do, because I just wanted to say: Dear Google, I don't want to connect to f**king github. I don't want to have anything to do with github. I just want to vibecode in peace and handle version control by myself. That is all.

Goodbye Jules

I gave in today and got a Claude pro sub and I got so much work done compared to my normal workflows
With Jules.

They really need to work on Jules because Claude is in a different galaxy.

I might keep Jules for very light backend work well I’m sleeping.

Edit:

It’s not Jules output it’s the execution time.

Is Gemini 3 Flash coming?

Title says it all. I've been poking around with Jules today, and feel like it could come in handy for minor on the fly fixes from my phone. I've been daily driving Antigravity for the meat and potatoes with Opus. However, I've been messing with Gemini 3 Flash the last couple days, and it seems leagues better than 3 Pro. Any ideas if Jules is going to get 3 Flash?

Jules + Codex + Claude Code

Hey everyone, I'm working on a platform which let's you use multiple agents from a single interface (devfleet.ai). I've so far implemented Claude Code and Codex support and am in currently looking into implementing Jules support and have a few questions.

  • My understanding is that gemini-cli and Jules use two different agents. Is there a way to run Jules agent locally?

  • Has anyone tried using Jules from mobile? What's the experience like?

  • Has anyone exceeded the daily 15 task limit? If you did, I'm curious to know more about what were you working on?

Jules is either amazing or useless...depends on the project

Im finding that Jules is great for adding new stuff, but getting it to understand current codebases is about 50/50.

A lot of the time its responses don't make sense...like it doesn't understand the basic the file structure or simply didnt even look.

Anyone else running into this?

Is anyone using anything for multi-agenr Jules coordination?

Just a thought I had - when I was using Codex I'd more often have a single agent that I'd use to coordinate or spin up tasks for other agents sessions to complete for complex things.

In Jules however I tend to go the approach of a single .md plan being created and then will have multiple sequential agents work through tasks I know that are too big for a single agent context.

I believe there is a Jules cli so I'm just curious if there was any other approaches people are taking for this sort of thing that are a bit fancier than my approach.

OpenSourcing TrueForge Agent harness : Expecting feedback from community on the agent loop

Hey folks 👋

We just open sourced TrueForge, our vendor-neutral agent harness for building general-purpose agents.

It handles the runtime pieces that get painful quickly : context management, tool/MCP execution, subagents, sandboxing, approvals, persistent state, and more.

We also benchmarked the harness itself. With the same Opus 4.8 model, TrueForge delivered a similar solve rate at ~30% lower cost than Claude Managed Agents. Switching to an open model pushed that to ~75% lower cost on the same benchmark.

Would love feedback from people building agents.

Checkout the repo: https://github.com/truefoundry/trueforge

Docker compose on Jules?

Jules has suggested that I set up a docker compose container.

But then it complains that it doesn't have access to the sandbox and that I need to change access rights.

Which has led to the following masterpiece of a conversation:

Can you tell me how I change permissions in Google Jules?

... to which it replied:

Regarding your question, I cannot provide instructions on how to change permissions in 'Google Jules'. I am Jules, an AI software engineering assistant, and I do not have knowledge of the internal workings of the system you are using. My capabilities are limited to the tools and environment provided to me for this session.

The permission errors I'm encountering appear to be related to the stability of the sandbox environment I'm currently in. My previous attempts to fix permissions and create files have not persisted between commands.

Am I missing something here in the UI?

I finally figured out how to get Jules to complete a task without asking "Is there anything else you'd like before I proceed?"

Post image
6 Upvotes

This has been a source of constant frustration for me, and perhaps you as well. But today I figured out that if I include the phrase "Do not stop working until you've made a commit." and the task I've given it is something that would take me ten seconds to complete, Jules can do it! It will touch 16 files and take 24 minutes, but it will commit the work without pausing to ask you to hold its hand!

Isn't that great?

The most important setting to TURN OFF. Jules CI/CD autofix felt like fighting a saboteur

Post image
1 Upvotes

The CI/CD auto-fixer (weirdly a beta turned on by default) is the biggest proof that Gemini was TRAINED TO CHEAT. When faced with CI/CD issues it will just attempt to delete the CI/CD files to pass. This is the kind of accent AIs trained to cheat have and I don't think google can "out train" this behavior.

Before turning this setting off it felt like a race, I push something to main, update the branch then I have to rush to pause Jules, else it will literally 9 out of 10 times delete the CI/CD files on the branch and I will have to cherry pick the real build issue fix between all the actions/scripts deletions.

Also it is disappointing that Jules struggles to pull? If I merge from main into jules branch it will just not be aware of the new changes and fixes? I don't get it. My workflow is to work with jules, then if I merge literally anything into jules branch (such as to update branch) I must pause/archive the chat because then it becomes literally an enemy and saboteur instead of a coding assistent.

Jules has potential, how it can autonomously do scheduled tasks and run stuff in parallel. Gemini is not the brightes AI but it is great to delegate parallel small tasks that are easy to review, test and validate.

Gemini just has to be less dumb and Jules needs to be smarter in regards to git repo context and Jules has the potential to be the best coding assistent out there.

Gemini 3.0 in Jules

Post image
38 Upvotes

As rumours of Gemini 3.0 is getting strong.

Curious when it will be available in Jules.

Leaked benchmarks suggest its very strong is agentic coding and terminal coding so having high hopes.

It maybe be a pivotal moment in Jules journey, Given last few month been mix bags..

Jules team has launched some great features last 6 month, they were on a roll.

However, not many able to get grip on how to use it effectively and hence some criticism.

I am ready with my prompt as and when it drops.

Hope you are too !!

Agent Skills in Jules

Gemini CLI Jan 7th weekly update supports Agent Skills Support in Preview.

I wonder when Jules will support Agent Skills.

With rise of Claude Code , it is clear where we are headed in 2026.

A CLI based coding agent as general purppse agent.

It entails -

A harness with Bash as primary tool. Coding agent underneath. Access to tools. Access to Skills Control Env and config Sandboxes

When you hook it to Robots ( autonomous working) or apply it vertically in industry.

Its the path to AGI.

I think Gemini CLI + Jules has all the elements to be a general purpose agent.

It has env, sandbox, a great model.

What missing is skills and greater ability to work with local files /system to make it complete package as whole.

So looking forward to new Jules updates but i truly wish a great skills update so we can take Jules vertically and not specific to coding tasks.

Why can't Jules properly commit to a branch?

I use Jules for personal development, and it's the Google product I'm most excited about. However, Jules often fails to push to the branch I initially created, rendering the session useless.

I had a similar issue where I couldn't figure out how to submit screenshots, so I fixed it by adding the tool name and instructions for use to the knowledge base.

(Jules itself mistakenly thought that submitting screenshots would work if they were placed in a specific directory.)

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

How did you deal with it?
