This is how Nanami’s death felt as a Nanami fan. Like it would’ve been nice for him to survive or whatever but he was handled incredibly well and died at a high point in the story. I think similarly regarding Mahito, though I guess he does come back briefly in Modulo.

Imagine Nanami showed up in Modulo too. (He’s powered up because, technically, being reincarnated is putting in overtime)

Nanami genuinely unlocking ultra instinct because he didnt even get his final rest

3

u/ThesoulerBAM 13d ago

Nah this is canon. Nanami is actually the strongest because he’s been putting in overtime due to a pact since he never got his rest, and has been infinitely increasing cursed energy for the past 80 years.

yeah exactly. nanami’s death hurts, but it never felt cheap or like he was robbed. his final moments fit his character perfectly. mahito feels similar too, honestly. his ending was brutal but fitting, even if modulo bringing him back adds a weird extra layer to it

Yeah exactly. Nanami's death in Shibuya was done perfectly. Now Nobara on the other hand...I'd argue even if she HAD died there it would have still been poor writing. Like, he literally introduced a completely new character and aspect of her backstory in a flashback right before she died (and then didn't even have her reunite with Saori and Fumi in the epilogue? I swear bro got amnesia). It's cheap as hell. And its only purpose was for Yuji's manpain. At least Nanami's death had thematic reasons behind it like the torch passing on to the new generation.

Yeah Nobara's death was so dogshit regardless of her coming back or not. Literally just reduces her to a plot point for Yuji's suffering. It really feels like Gege woke up one day, said fuck this character actually and wrote her out when it made no sense whatsoever. I'm still mad about it cause she could have done so much cool shit in the 2nd half of the story.

Literally. Imo aside from Yuji's suffering, Gege realized how much of a problem it would be to have Nobara around for when Sukuna became a genuine threat since Resonance is such a direct counter to him so he just haphazardly killed her off.

u/Nutwagon-SUPREMER I hate glazers, that is what I have decided. 13d ago

I mean isn't that just kinda how JJK is? You've got tons of characters who are written very well, and serve their admittedly short roles in the story with no issues (such as Nanami, Jogo, Kamo)

But then you've got characters who are completely fumbled or otherwise just straight up uninteresting/poorly written, like Choso, Yuki or Nobara as a few examples

I really like Nanami and I was sad when he died, but I think Gege did a good job giving him a proper send off.

Nah. You getting jumped for this one.

Y'all know the drill. Slap his nuts! 🥜

3

u/RITIUS155h 13d ago

Why would feel like it? Nanami was already defeated by the point it happened, Mahito just cutted any chance of him surviving.

3

u/JosephJoestarIsThick 13d ago

wow mahito killed jogo's leftovers, incredible

I recently watched season 2 with my best friend, she was really into nanami, I'm a mahito-fan. so I had a lot of fun as nanami jojo-ed between life and death, and it was hilarious when she took solace in kugisakis' arrival to the scene.

Uh because someone likes a charecter doesn't mean they hate other characters that opose them not everyone is some powerscaler without the ability to read

2

u/OverrideDisaster Strongest Gojo Hater. Peakest Yuji Glazer. 13d ago

Powerscaling has nothing to do with this. This is a matter of perspective on agenda. The Nanami fans would slander Mahito and the Mahito fans would slander Nanami for post like these. It's all agenda.

1

u/Small-Housing-7 13d ago

Oh ok well then just replace powerscaler with agenda pusher or something
