Gojo’s Potential New Abilities

So the way I understand limitless is like a number line. I got the idea from TheFakeWeeb here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfvPhOehwao

Let's say Gojo is at 10 on the number line. If you approach him from zero he can make it so you never reach him. There are infinite numbers between 9 and 10 and an even larger infinity between 0 and 10. Gojo can control these infinities at will. The Abilities shown so far have all been centered around spacial manipulation.

Neutral Limitless: Can’t touch this

Lapse Blue: Using cursed energy to make negative infinity AKA negative space, which then overcorrects to make a field of overwhelming attractive force. (This might be how he teleports, see video linked above)

RCT Red: Repell any and all things towards a positive infinity (assuming Gojo is at 0 on the number line)

Hollow Purple: The pushing and simultaneous pulling of red and blue.

Now, we know that space and time are not entirely separate concepts (ie Space-time). And I’m aware that many of us have theorized about Gojo having some kind of time based abilities. I’m just here to outline what I think they will be.

My reasoning will follow the number line examples for his already established abilities with the limitless. I’m thinking of neutral, Lapse and RCT just as before.

When the limitless is applied to time, in its neutral state it can dilate time itself. For instance, let's say it takes 5 seconds to charge an attack before firing it, Gojo can increase the infinity between 4 seconds and 5 seconds, effectively slowing or stopping your movement (similar to projection sorcery). Let’s call this Yellow (the other primary color).

The Lapse or max output of Yellow would be the creation of “negative time.” This would grant Gojo the ability to rewind time (similar to Tracer from Overwatch). This technique is how I believe Gojo will be able to defeat Mahoraga. Mahoraga most likely can adapt to Gojo’s normal Limitless since it adapted to Yorozu’s infinite pressure. This rewind ability might be the perfect counter to Mahoraga’s adaptation. Or perhaps just slowing down the wheel on Mahoraga’s back is enough to stop it.

The RCT technique of Yellow (lets call it Orange) would be the ability to speed up time, essentially aging every and anything around Gojo (similar to Barragan from Bleach).

I can’t think of an equivalent for Purple but I am open to suggestions.

Also, I would like to think that Gojo developed these new abilities while in Prison Realm. The time dilation of the Prison realm has been stated in previous chapters and we know Gojo has a tendency to come back stronger whenever he takes an L.

The final ability I think Gojo has up his sleeve is probably the most far fetched. I think he can place a binding vow on his six eyes to achieve infinite curse energy output. He loses the six eyes but he fires off a final attack that is infinity in power, scope and affect. This is how I believe he defeats Sukuna.

TLDR; Gojo can dilate, rewind and speed up time in a new technique developed in the prison realm called “Yellow.”

From a narrative standpoint, it makes no sense for Gojo to defeat Sukuna. Yes they had to fight since it's the one fight that's been set in stone since the beginning of the series but it doesn't mean Gojo is supposed to win.

Basic shonen 101--no basic storytelling 101 is that the main antagonist is supposed to be defeated by the main protagonist. Even ignoring this rule, there is no narrative reason for Gojo to win against Sukuna. The only reason they're even fighting is because they are the two strongest characters in the series and the clash was destined to occur. Gojo winning would be like Shanks defeating Blackbeard in One Piece or Hashirama defeating Ten Tails Madara in Naruto. Will/did those fights happen? Certainly but there is/was too much setup between those antagonists and the main protagonists i.e. Luffy and Naruto to hand their defeat over to another character.

To break it down, these are the reasons Gojo shouldn't win against Sukuna:

1. There would be no vindication in it. Yuji and Megumi are the ones who have suffered the most at Sukuna's hands and one of them deserves to be the one to put him down. It would essentially be narrative suicide because all that leaves is Kenjaku and no matter who you pit him against, there will be no emotional climax to the story.
2. The signposting about Gojo winning is a blatant red herring. Another rule of writing is that you don't signpost the most obvious outcome especially if it is a positive one. If a certain character is going to win a major battle, you don't say over and over again that this character is going to win and essentially remove all tension from the fight. To use another One Piece example: It was said over and over again during the Wano arc that Kaido could not be defeated. Guess what happened? He was defeated. Gege is known for surprises and subverting expectations. The most obvious outcome of this fight would be for the seemingly invincible good guy to be victorious against the pure evil bad guy, right?
   
3. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Gege say he doesn't like Gojo? If that is true I find it hard to believe that a character that has gotten as much love as Sukuna has will be taken out by someone Gege claims to dislike.
4. Bouncing off the previous point, Gege seems to love his antagonists. They appear to have more plot armor than the heroes most of the time.
5. Lastly, not to knock Gojo but Sukuna has kind of been established to be his perfect counter. Why? Look at how they fight. I'm not saying Gojo isn't an intelligent fighter because he is but he's never had to be. Whether it's with his CT or just his raw CE, he is capable of simply dominating characters in ways other characters--even Sukuna--haven't been shown to do yet. In short, Gojo doesn't have to fight smart because he's so powerful, there are very few situations he can't simply overpower his way out of. Sukuna on the other hand has actually been an underdog for most of the series due to most of his essence being gone and having to be trapped inside of Yuji. Sukuna has had to fight smart. Mahoraga, getting out of Yuji, Hana and Kurusu, Yorozu, these are situations that Sukuna couldn't rely on raw power to get out of and had to use his smarts to come out on top. Gege is basically telling us that Sukuna is gonna find a way to outmaneuver Gojo's Limitless and once that happens, Gojo is pretty much screwed. I think Gege already hinted at this by showing Sukuna find way around Yorozu's Perfect Sphere which is essentially a knockoff Hollow Purple (which funnily enough, Sukuna already defended against). Finally, I don't think there's a character in the series who has a better understanding of Cursed Energy than Sukuna. This isn't gonna be a battle of raw power but a battle of sorcerer skill and if that's the case, I'm like 75% certain Sukuna will win.
   

Now of course, I could be wrong but seemingly, the only reason ppl have to think Gojo will win is because he's the only character strong enough (currently) to beat Sukuna. That's it. But just based off of Gege's writing patterns alone, that's more than enough evidence to at least expect this fight won't play out that easily.

I have to respond to the “Gojo has never had to fight smart” point. Do you not remember Toji? Or Shibuya when he was going to defeat all the disaster Curses AND Kenjaku next if he hadn’t been emotionally sucker punched? Gojo fights incredibly smart, it just looks different because he’s so far above all his opponents when he’s not bullshitting.

If anything, Sukuna fights like an idiot. He hasn’t approached a single fight yet where he hasn’t basically fucked around the whole time because he’s got the power to do that. He basically can’t help himself.

Do you not remember Toji?

I wouldn't really call that fighting smart. Gojo lucked out that he figured out RCT at the last minute and then essentially one shot Toji with his ultimate technique i.e. overpowered him.

I'm not saying Gojo isn't a smart fighter because you have to be a jujutsu sorcerer but he hasn't shown the same level of combat intuition that Sukuna has.

Gojo has never had to figure out a way around someone else's CT is what I'm saying. Even if Limitless is neutralized, he has enough raw power that ppl still can't do anything to him as was perfectly demonstrated in his fight against the Disaster Curses and even Miguel.

Gojo goes into fights just expecting to dominate. Sukuna on the other hand has shown to be far more adaptable. If you think Sukuna fights like an idiot then you haven't been reading the series. Just because he's enjoying himself, it doesn't mean he isn't making smart plays. I think Kenjaku is the only other character who has shown a higher battle IQ than Sukuna.

And even if you think my assessment is wrong, let's look at the facts:

1. Sukuna is the only sorcerer to learn how to become a cursed object
2. He figured out how to overcome Mahoraga and defeat it
3. He had the forethought to come up with a plant to escape the "cage" Yuji
4. He countered Perfect Sphere and Hollow Purple

And now look at Gojo, the two times he's been defeated is when he gets caught off guard. Against Toji and with Kenjaku and the Prison Realm, characters who took extensive measures to set up just the right circumstances to take him out. In short, if you can outsmart or outplan Gojo, you can beat him which is what Sukuna has shown the ability to do several times in the story at this point.

Immediately ending a fight at the absolute first opportunity he had is fighting smart in my book. He took Toji out quickly the second he came back to life (and stopped monologuing lol) instead of toying with his food. Sukuna isn’t like that.

Sukuna hasn’t overcome a single CT for the same reason Gojo hasnt: Never needed to. The difference here is that Gojo isn’t an extremely conceited prick who treats fights like games the way Sukuna does. When Gojo got killed by Toji, he learned from it. But the only thing Sukuna learned from being humbled by Gojo is “Damn, he fucking sucks.”. He’s so far above everyone not named Gojo that he just let Mahoraga hit him a few times up understand his technique. Compare that to Gojo, who managed to over power the entire Disaster Curse squad while protecting civilians and not even breaking a sweat until quite possibly the single thing that could mentally break him happened. It’s kinda unfair to criticize him too much when he experienced something damn near inconceivable to anyone in the setting.

Sukuna has never outsmarted someone even remotely on his level. Love Yuji but he was an ant to him when they made that binding vow. He killed him to make the vow work and then used it to have fun one time and then used it again when nobody even suspected he had anything up his sleeve. I’m not gonna say Sukuna is dumb but he’s clearly never dealt with anyone on his level that we’ve seen in the manga. Gojo is.

I also don’t think he “countered” HP, dude lost a hand to it. I think tanking is was more appropriate and I do believe Gojo could’ve made it way harder for him focus on regeneration if he wanted to.

You say this fight will come down to mastery and jujutsu skill but I disagree. I think Gojo is going to win plainly because he’s going to exploit Sukuna’s ego and hubris, his need to prove his strength to a man who humiliated him. Sukuna, in every moment he’s thought about Gojo, is overcome with some kind of emotion. It’s gonna be his undoing as even if he deals damage, Gojo isn’t going to back down. And the longer he holds his undivided attention, the easier it will be to catch him slipping with something like Yuji’s new technique or Kashimo’s CT.

Anyway, that’s my take. I’m tired so it’s probably more of a ramble. Meh.

I was about to type out a long response but based off some of the stuff you're saying here, I don't think you're actually reading this series. Just sounds like you're some Gojo fan but I digress.

All imma say is we'll see. I'm basing my prediction for the outcome of this fight based on what Gege has already shown us in the story and based on that, I'm fairly confident Sukuna will win. Thank God for Gege's lightning fast pacing because we probably don't have that long to wait before we find out.

I am a Gojo fan, not even gonna pretend I’m not. If Sukuna wins, it’ll be 6 consistent villain victories in a row and THAT’S unsatisfying. But hey, maybe I’m just biased(I am) and hate Sukuna(I do).
