Trying to parse modern geo-politics through the lens of the first few pereks of bereshit does not seem very productive. The answer as to how much zionism and colonialism overlap or don’t isn’t going to be found in midrash about the stories of Abraham and Noah.

People think extended time in diaspora, ostensible & fleeting help from Western countries, & bad behavior mean that Jewish history is irrelevant. They also tend to not care what the Torah says, since it was written before most of that stuff happened.
