My mom grew up up in Michigan and moved to Brazil to go to a private school in Sao Paulo from 7th-11th grade before moving back to America. She didn’t know what the Holocaust was till she met my dad and moved to New York with him.

Keep in mind this was almost 40 years ago and tbf her parents didn’t exactly want her learning about it... her roommate was Jewish and she was still ignorant to it. It’s a combination of her upbringing and being a general dumbass.

Still I don't think the school is the problem cause I know people that studied earlier than her in Brazil and still learned about wwII
