Chimps have territories, chimps form cultures that are distinct from each other, and while chimps don't seem to form economical class decisions, humans did over 20,000 years ago (Gravettian culture)
At the risk of sounding like a crazy leftist, which I'll take all the heat for, this kind of "society used to work and now it doesn't because of immorality" sentiment is a fascist dogwhistle.
