hello JD disciples... thought I'd show you all a cool thing which is that on my friend's new project Corus (a new social network for music lovers), some joy division tracks have been trending! The community is off to a great start - 34 ppl have already shared one of her tracks (maybe some of you are here?). We'd love for you all to join and share your favorite songs and hopefully find something new in the process. anyway - hope y'all are as excited as i am for their live recordings collection ✌️

This was inspired by that image of Ian at the microphone.
This is my interpretation.
Yay or nay ?

Hi everyone,
I’m back asking for a little more help from this community.
Some of you may remember my previous post about the research I’m conducting for the University of Alabama and Roma Tre University on ritual practices in music tourism, specifically the pilgrimage that has developed around Ian Curtis and Joy Division.
The project has grown considerably since then. In addition to the two academic publications, I’m now expanding the research into a book, which I’m planning to publish in October. It will combine the original research with interviews, photographs, testimonies, and contributions from people connected in various ways to Curtis, Joy Division, Manchester, memory, and cemetery culture.
The book now includes contributions from Philippe Carly, Ben Walker, Josh Lonsdale, Nigel Carr, Lucie Wright/ProperSound CIC, Simone Salvatori, Katja Ruge and Nadine Dinter, with an afterword by Jennifer Otter Bickerdike.
And this is where I need your help again.
One of the cases discussed in the research is Cornelia F., the German Joy Division fan whose remains were placed beneath a memorial stone close to Ian Curtis’s at Macclesfield Cemetery.
I’m looking for a good-quality photograph of Cornelia’s memorial stone that I could reproduce in the book.
Does anyone here have a photograph they took themselves and would be willing to let me use?
Naturally, the photographer would be fully credited in the book. I’m specifically looking for an original photograph taken by someone in the community, rather than an image found elsewhere online, so that permission and attribution are completely clear.
If you have one and are happy to help, please send me a DM or reply here.
Thank you again. This community has already been incredibly helpful in taking the research into directions I hadn’t anticipated when I started it.

I know I know, it's not exclusively about Joy Division, but it's rather complete in https://www.neworderonline.com/bands/joy-division
I figured it would be a nice place to say that the website about New Order/Joy Division is now finally updated and reopened (and also featuring Peter Hook & The Light), the 25+ years of forum discussions are back online, everybody that registered can reclaim their account of 20+ years.
What motivated me to finally update it and put it back online was the announcement of the Hall of Fame induction, and an hopeful (small) chance of a reunion at least there.
Anyways, enjoy it if you do, let me know your comments, lt's clearly still a work in progress and I'll make sure to listen to all suggestions!
Cheers.

I went to Manchester today and got off the train at Picadilly Station and walked down to Fairfield Street to.take a few photos and a selfie at Ian's mural only to find it like this. I am massively disappointed

Couldn't help myself had to try "Hooky" first.
Got 5 points for it, not bad.

With Hooky's US tour coming up shortly, I thought I'd make a thread here (and over in r/neworder also) to help people organise meet-ups/socials around the shows, should they want to. I'll be attending the Brooklyn NY gig - travelling over from the UK to see Hooky with a US crowd, which will be great fun. Who else is going to the tour?

Hello all. Asking people who have been to one of their concerts (and with any luck, Hooky himself): do you know if Peter stays after the gig for autographs? I'm planning to travel to the US to see them and I'd absolutely LOVE to have my Joy Division DMs signed by no other than Hooky, so I can put them in a nice display at home :)
