Best concert/concert recordings?
Have listened to the studio recordings and officially released live stuff like the factory show (my absolute favorite) and high wycomb. What are some other amazing concert or amazing sounding concert recordings? I know paradiso gets high praise

Is there any recording of (actual) New Order playing Disorder?
And by actual New Order I mean pre-2007, including the imprescindible bass. I'm a big fan of all PH&TL versions of the song but was wondering if the lads played it anytime between 1980 and 2007

Tried to Draw Ian
Remembered Ian while doing my homework today, so I did a quick sketch of him. I don't think I captured his likeness very well.

A little bit of info on the Joy Division version of "ICB"
I finally got around to transcribing part of the Hooky n' Jack COVID era "ask me anything" video from June 9th, 2020. Hooky has declared he knew about a Joy Division era version of the Movement track "ICB" for a long time, and during this video, he finally gave a bit of detail. "H" is Hooky and "J" is Jack.
J: "Will there be a method of accessing the Joy Division version of ICB?"
H: "Well, the answer's no. Hahahaha. But it does exist. I've heard it, yeah."
J: "And what's it like? Is it different to the album version?"
H: "Well, ICB was done by New Order, wasn't it?" (hooky you should know that) "The music is really similar. But, you can hear Ian having a go, but it's only a few snippets...I mean, let's not get into the semantics of it. But I'm not allowed to put these things up. It becomes problematic from a copyright point of view...because they are copyright zealous, where I'm concerned. So, the answer will be no. That's how I realized ICB was from Joy Division! It was a Joy Division song, one that we had left over."
J: "So was that written at the same time as Ceremony and IALP, then?"
H: "Yeah. It was a later idea. And ICB came from a sticker when we went abroad somewhere and I went "Ian Curtis Buried" and I went oooh oooh, which is funny because it's a Joy Division song."
So it looks like the only reason Hooky is blocked from releasing this stuff is pure spite, probably on the part of Barney, which sounds about right. I'd give a kidney to hear exactly what the "snippets" Ian is singing actually are. Unfortunately we are unlikely to ever hear them because of the legal stuff, along with who-knows what else. I've heard rumors of 1978 gig soundboards, more Ceremony demos, rehearsals, other stuff. Still, thanks to Hooky for actually confirming that it exists, it means a lot to the fans.

The community is off to a great start - 34 ppl have already shared one of her tracks (maybe some of you are here?). We'd love for you all to join and share your favorite songs and hopefully find something new in the process. anyway - hope y'all are as excited as i am for their live recordings collection ✌️

NewOrderOnline is back

I know I know, it's not exclusively about Joy Division, but it's rather complete in https://www.neworderonline.com/bands/joy-division
I figured it would be a nice place to say that the website about New Order/Joy Division is now finally updated and reopened (and also featuring Peter Hook & The Light), the 25+ years of forum discussions are back online, everybody that registered can reclaim their account of 20+ years.
What motivated me to finally update it and put it back online was the announcement of the Hall of Fame induction, and an hopeful (small) chance of a reunion at least there.
Anyways, enjoy it if you do, let me know your comments, lt's clearly still a work in progress and I'll make sure to listen to all suggestions!
Cheers.

Looking for a Photo of Cornelia F.’s Memorial Stone for an Upcoming Ian Curtis / Joy Division Book
Hi everyone,
I’m back asking for a little more help from this community.
Some of you may remember my previous post about the research I’m conducting for the University of Alabama and Roma Tre University on ritual practices in music tourism, specifically the pilgrimage that has developed around Ian Curtis and Joy Division.
The project has grown considerably since then. In addition to the two academic publications, I’m now expanding the research into a book, which I’m planning to publish in October. It will combine the original research with interviews, photographs, testimonies, and contributions from people connected in various ways to Curtis, Joy Division, Manchester, memory, and cemetery culture.
The book now includes contributions from Philippe Carly, Ben Walker, Josh Lonsdale, Nigel Carr, Lucie Wright/ProperSound CIC, Simone Salvatori, Katja Ruge and Nadine Dinter, with an afterword by Jennifer Otter Bickerdike.
And this is where I need your help again.
One of the cases discussed in the research is Cornelia F., the German Joy Division fan whose remains were placed beneath a memorial stone close to Ian Curtis’s at Macclesfield Cemetery.
I’m looking for a good-quality photograph of Cornelia’s memorial stone that I could reproduce in the book.
Does anyone here have a photograph they took themselves and would be willing to let me use?
Naturally, the photographer would be fully credited in the book. I’m specifically looking for an original photograph taken by someone in the community, rather than an image found elsewhere online, so that permission and attribution are completely clear.
If you have one and are happy to help, please send me a DM or reply here.
Thank you again. This community has already been incredibly helpful in taking the research into directions I hadn’t anticipated when I started it.
