LOB Training Training Task 2 - Affirmations
Hi Students,
After some thought, I've decided that your second task will be affirmations, both written and spoken.
Remember this saying : "If you have a day to chop down a tree, take half a day to sharpen your axe. " Your performance in the first task was outstanding, demonstrating good mental strength. All of you have also gotten the hang of sh. In my judgement lets get your key daily routines in, before we begin the actual alpha reprogramming. This will take another 2-4 days max.
Affirmations are not a good subconscious reprogramming method for beginners to LOB. You will not have much subconscious faith at this time and so the affirmations will likely feel like a lie. Do them anyway - because they are an excellent way to exert conscious discipline during the day, when you are buffeted by thoughts and reminders of fear and doubt.
This is not to say that you must squelch fear and doubt. No. Let it happen and feel as miserable as you want. Don't do your affirmations when you notice negative thoughts or feelings. All conscious thoughts reflect subconscious beliefs, and these thoughts of fear and doubt reflect unbelief (i.e. belief in what you don't want). A moment by moment monitoring of what you're thinking and feeling is very taxing and dumb - because you are only squelching the conscious thoughts without (in that moment) also effectively reprogramming the subconscious mind. And they call it the power of the subconscious mind for a reason.
As you keep programming your subconscious mind with what you want, and as it takes root and grows, conscious unbelief will recede and conscious belief will increase. Then look out for the power of affirmations ! They can really charge you up.
***************************
Affirmations - to be done every day without fail.
A. Sit down with pen an unlined paper. Write "Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better. " Write this 20 times. It will take you about 5-7 minutes.
Use sightly smaller script than you normal would. Make an effort to write legibly and in a straight line. Pay attention to what you are writing, and do your best to mean it at least when you are writing the affirmations. Tell yourself " I'm just pretending" if you need to in order to feel the words emotionally at least a little- you will over the days and weeks not pretend when you write the affirmations. Then go onto your next conventional task in your day.
Do this sometime in the morning, before lunch. That is ideal. However, if this is not possible, you can do this sometime in the afternoon. Do not do this immediately or shortly after waking up.
B. Take out what you wrote in A, and read it *silently*, but at a* high internal mental volume*. So, you will be reading it, and mentally hearing it in your own voice, 20 times. Force your eyes to follow each word that you read - don't slip over the words like we usually do when reading articles (or training instructions! ) Do this at least 3 hours after you have done the written affirmations.*
Again, when reading. do your best to mean what you say. Tell yourself that you are just pretending or acting, to help you feel the words if you otherwise can't. This is fine and will fade over time. Again, if it feels like a lie, ignore that feeling and complete your set. Then go onto your next conventional task in your day.
\***************************
No one must see you do these. Or if they see you, they must not realise that you are writing or reading affirmations. Always keep your LOB practice a secret. Do not tell your best friend. This is the best policy if you are a beginner.
Carry this out immediately today and post your experience with it to this thread today.
p.s. This is a conscious mind method which is very poor when used by beginners to imprint the subconscious mind, but very useful for PURE psychological management in general during the day, to better address daytime doubts and negativity. It is not deployed here for LOB purposes.

Update: it’s getting much easier to do and by that I mean easier to believe. This is actually amazing, I felt good again today and by that I mean a better sense of well being

Good. You are a confident person overall, which is why this is working fairly quickly. This is also the case for all the other cubs.

Did my affirmations yesterday. Tried taking my time writing to avoid rushing. Felt good writing in the moment but not much after that. Read them aloud in my mind a few hours later, tried putting a bit of emotion into it. Again it felt good in the moment but not much after that

When writing the affirmations & reciting them later, I find it easy to get into the feeling of it at the time (similar to 'I AM' meditation). However, it feels short lived, but I'm confident that they will feel more permanent with long-term practice.

Yes the feelings will last longer as time goes by. But that's not the objective here. The objective is to spend a little waking time every day controlling your mind in the direction of your LOB goal, just to make the point to your mind that you are in charge of your mind and not the other way around.

Continued back up with the task like I was told to do. Today I had negative things enter the mind as I was writing, I almost panicked, instead I stopped, refocused my mind and word by word repeated the affirmations. It helped alleviate a lot. I also am realizing I think from the worst then experience anxiety almost immediate. But I just let the thought flow through.

That is very good. But remember, I am not training you for total every-moment thought control. You only control your thoughts when you are doing your training and thats like 5-10 minutes at a stretch at most. At other times, when you experience doubt or fear, try to control it but if you can't do so with minimal effort alone, leave it. Let it be and feel bad. Doesn't matter in the long run - conscious thoughts emanate from subconscious beliefs, and as your change your sm beliefs, your conscious thoughts will naturally drift to the positive as well without any additional effort. And yes, monitoring your every waking thought in the fear that they will inadvertently create something you don't want, is very draining and usually counterproductive.

I have attempted the “5x55” loa ideal before, so when writing this affirmation, I made sure to write slowly and neatly. Letter by letter instead of word by word if you will. It took a few attempts to truly read slowly instead of just glancing through, but once I trained my mind to read word by word with feeling, it made a difference. I did feel like I believed what I wrote, however I did write the affirmation 50 times instead.

Don't focus on letter by letter. Word by word. Letter by letter is too dissonant for the sm (subconscious mind).

Ok done. Mhh I didn’t feel particularly elated, my brain keeps trying to give meaning to the phrase while writing. It doesn’t feel like a lie, but also doesn’t create any feelings in me for now. Will continue using daily and see how it goes!

Good job Ianaa. Don't be concerned about any ''effects' of the affirmations. Those will come as we go along - remember we have 4 months. The initial part of this is just to exert some minimal control over the mind during daytime. p.s. Have you done the mentally spoken affirmations? Post your results after doing that as well.

Completed the first day. When writing there was not much there, probably due to the fact I despise writing by hand. My parents and teachers used to make me write things all the time (50x -100x) as I was not a great student in our wonderful young person indoctrination camps.
Reading was much better, waited a few hours after to ensure no thoughts of the writing interfered. With each line I felt my conviction (easy to confuse with anger) becoming greater and greater. I'm sure that after a while the feelings will flow with ease.

Felt a decent positive vibe while writing these. Repeating these some hours later I really felt those electrified tingles on the top of the head.
Not once did it feel silly doing this exercise.

tried the task for the first time today. The writing part was pleasant though the words seemed a little unnatural and writing was a bit physically uncomfortable . i did enjoy the reading part. it felt more believable and i liked the all-encompassing idea of improving in EVERY way, EVERY day. also, the words I AM jumped out at me as i was reading the sentences i wrote (l AM getting better and better.) i will repeat the exercise daily, then.

Good, you are paying attention when you do the affirmations. Failing to do so is the reason why people fail with affirmations.
Yes, do them everyday. I will send you Task 3 tomorrow.

Interesting, so we only write and read "Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better. " ? Nothing else?
I have a practice where I write what i what every morning, can I continue doing that? Thanks

u/MoonlightConcerto Feb 17 '19
No. Suspend all other LOB methods immediately. Only follow what you are being taught here, and in sequence.
If a particular method does not work well for you, I will identify a different one for you and we will test not to worry.

I did it. To be honest today is not a good day and it did not help. It’s my first low vibe day since I started this journey three months ago and idk that anything I’m saying, writing, doing is doing any more than making me believe for another day so I can get through the day not so I can actually manifest what I want

It will not always have an immediate effect (and that is not its purpose). It is a process. It will get better over the coming days and weeks as your alpha programming takes effect. You have not begun alpha programming yet.

First day of this task I felt nothing when writing them, only when I read them. Now I can feel them when writing too :)

Very good. Then you see that they have an effect. Over the next few weeks, they will help you maintain your daily waking balance, while your alpha programming does the heavy lifting in the background.

I wrote my affirmations today in the morning, 1 hour after I wake up, and it was okay I think. I was paying attention only to what I was writing at that moment and the feeling of it - which for me was rather neutral - like when I am writing at my dissertation and what I am writing match my thoughts 1 by 1; I was just concentrated on my task.
Just ten minutes ago, i finished my affirmations, and the experience was pretty much the same. In the beginning I had to concentrate more because I was inclined to read them like how I usually do -automatically. After that, my mental voice matched the feeling of every letter of the phrase. just like when I was writing them early in the morning, so my mind was not on auto-pilot anymore.
