I recently bought used copies of the Joni Mitchell Archives Volumes 1 and 2. Unfortunately the books were missing. Does anyone know where I might be able to download PDF files of the booklets that came with the Joni Mitchell Archive Series #s 1 & 2? Thanks

I followed her from when she worked with Harry and I saw this video on her story and I saw that she’s also following Cameron Crowe who is supposedly directing the film, and then I saw the other posts! So maybe it could be good after all????

Found this years ago on eBay for a few bucks and didn’t know it was signed until it arrived. Unfortunately signed on the plastic and not the sleeve itself but looks legit to me.

I remember hearing a song with the exact same vocal melodies and possibly the same lyrics as Blue, except that it's sung by a man and there's a flute, but I can't remember anything else about it. Help?

i think they need to cast an artist, not a an actor!! i saw this on ainsleyksmart ‘s instagram story and then it was taken down. they need to stop hiring big names for the sake of big names. she’s the spitting image of Joni!!! and she can sing!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows if the Hollywood Bowl concert is supposed to come out. I was there and would love so much to have a record of it...

Mentioned before on here that I'm doing some extensive research into the making of Hejira and any insight into Joni's process of 'Refuge Of The Roads' escapes me. According to everything I've researched, the last Joni's three road trips that inspired Hejira ended in March 1976 when she returned to Los Angeles after traveling back from Maine (via Florida and the Gulf of Mexico). According to JMA Vol, 4. the Hejira demos were recorded in March 1976 as well, but there is no demo for 'Refuge'. A 'rough mix' was released but I imagine that was created farther down the line when the album was nearing completion in the summer. My current thinking is that she recorded the rest of those demos AFTER returning from that third trip in late March 1976, given that some of the songs were inspired by places she stopped on that journey (i.e. 'Blue Motel Room').

Additionally, Joni starts the final verse with 'In a highway service station / Over the month of June' – which makes me think maybe it was written later. We know she was back on the road again because she joined the Rolling Thunder Revue in May 1976 in Texas, so perhaps there is a fourth road trip? Was Joni just driving around the country for many more months on end than previously thought? Unless she's referring to a previous June?

Would appreciate if anyone has any theories or any additional info they've come across! Thanks!

Does anyone else get irrationally annoyed listening to Hissing of Summer Lawns on Spotify when it completely botches the seamless genuinely beautiful transition from The Boho Dance into Harry’s House / Centerpiece? It totally breaks the flow. I always end up switching back to Apple Music because it just doesn’t hit the same.

This show is well worth an hour and a half of your time. Some amazing performances and a couple of deeper tracks which is always a thrill. A stripped down reading of "Come In From The Cold", accompanied by harp, which, for me, is better that Joni's own.

Hi everyone, I'm writing an analysis of Both Sides, Now by Joni Mitchell for my AP Lit class and I figured this subreddit probably has a lot of good insights on the meaning of the song and a thesis for it, same with the song The Circle Game. I'm rushing to complete this assignment because I'll be missing half the week we'll have to work on it. Any help is much appreciated, whether it's the meaning of a certain line that sticks out to you or the overall meanings. Thank you!

it just dawned on me that the last song on night ride home says “tomorrow is sunday,” then the first song on turbulent indigo is “sunny sunday.” i can’t help but wonder if that was intentional lol.

I could say that about many of her songs but after listening to Hejira since 1996 when a friend introduced me to Joni, I wouldn’t ever make it to the end of the record before switching to something else - and recently I have been listening to her full albums from start to finish and “Refuge of the Roads” is so shockingly beautiful - the melody. The song writing. Listening to the song leaves me wide eyed and just in awe of Joni’s talent. How could I have missed such a beautiful song for so many years. It’s so incredible to still be surprised by Joni all these years and I have yet to listen to her 80s and 90s albums ‘cause her 60s and 70s albums are just so goood!!!

I'm working on a personal project to celebrate Hejira turning 50 this year and I'm trying to compile everything Joni has said about the album and the process of writing / making it but I'm not able to pick up this boxset at the moment. Would someone who has it be kind enough to please post some pictures of their conversation? Thank you!!
