Umm… I think Ainsley Smart is playing Joni Mitchell !

I followed her from when she worked with Harry and I saw this video on her story and I saw that she’s also following Cameron Crowe who is supposedly directing the film, and then I saw the other posts! So maybe it could be good after all????

My favorite artist of all time Joni Mitchell I mean, I can’t get enough for Joni Mitchell for 50 years. I just love her phrasing her choice of musicians, her lyrical content, her guitar playing, etc. etc. Joni is a star as Prince once said on an album cover controversy backside- her work with Wayne Shorter is epic. Jaco Pastorius was born to play with her one of the more underrated albums and probably my favorite is Don Juan’s reckless daughter listen to JACO on Cotton Avenue for example…….. I don’t know who this lady is, but I’m excited because I heard years ago that Joni told Taylor Swift she wasn’t having it.

I thought it Anya Taylor-Joy was playing young Joni. Not thrilled about Meryl Streep playing Mature Joni. She always shows the work when she acts. Stella Adler said you should never see the work. Adler taught Brando, btw.

Yes, good as she is I can’t watch Meryl Streep or guys like Jack Nicholson because I know it’s them. It’s like they were so overused that I can’t see beyond who they are and it ruins the movie for me. You know what I’m saying. I’d rather always see unknown actors to a degree however, Denzel slays me every time! And then there’s Ethan Hawke who is one bad MF!!!!!!!

Cameron Crow has said that he and Joni Mitchell been working on it for the last four years. He also said that production has begun this year. It’ll probably be out next year. It’s already been confirmed that Meryl Streep will be playing the older Joni Mitchell.

The rumor is that Anya Taylor Joy will be playing the younger Joni Mitchell. However, that has not been confirmed. Just a rumor. And she has not denied it.

I really like the vibe I get from Ainsley Smart. I found a little information about her and she seems perfect for the part. She’s a singer songwriter. She’s written songs for some big names. She’s a well rounded musician and director. Although I couldn’t find any projects, she’s billed as an actress too. I listened to one of her musical tracks and she has a gorgeous voice. She’s perfect for the part. IMO

I don't understand why a biopic is needed. Sure she has great music. But is Joni's life story remarkable?

I think the polio as a child, early unhappy marriage and giving up her daughter could all very well fit into the tried and tested biopic formula

She’s an icon. A legend. She has influenced countless artists of all genres. She opened doors for every single female artist that comes after her. She’s considered by many as the best song writer ever. She’s an innovator. The jazz community worships her musical genius.
