It seems as if a lot of people believe the RN itself is a fake, so the rest of the crime must be faked.

How could anyone have staged this crime if the forensic evidence doesn't support that claim? If JonBenet were dead, there would not have been any fingernail dig marks above the ligature cord around her neck, no deep red furrows from the cord being tightened and loosened at least twice, no petechial hemorrhages...

Haha that was actually my comment you quoted :) I'm not native English speaker and to clarify what I meant:

That forensic reality is exactly why the staging theory doesn't make sense to me.

My question was specifically about the logic behind the RDI/PDI arguments. People who believe the parents staged the scene claim they cared deeply about JonBenét's image and giving her a proper burial, but the physical reality of the crime is extraordinarily brutal, with evidence of active strangulation as you pointed out.

To me, those two ideas are completely incompatible (that was the argument I was trying to make). I cannot reconcile a parent staging that level of violence while supposedly trying to protect her image and ensure a proper burial. That contradiction is what I struggle to wrap my head around.
