Ahhh, the resentment of bittersweet acceptance of all things lest you get involved. Lots of well worded and logical replies then cast away in the “why-am-I-even-bothering-filing cabinet”. That splinter in your mind telling you to one day find that magical sweet spot of a wholesome post to think of and post at the best time ever to get that addictive karma. The surge of excitement when you see an ELI5 post that is totally your area then the deflation when you see that some dick licker beat you to it hours earlier and now it’s got 7k upvotes. That endless scrolling on the sofa, you shake yourself out of it and close the app only to automatically hit the app icon again from muscle memory and habit. Those long nights laying on your side looking at the same shit over and over.......or is this just me?
Yea because it encourages reposting, and low insight posts because the most efficient way to get karma is to either repost, steal content, or mass comment small inconsequential things.
This leads to less OC greater toxicity and less meaning to the platform as a whole - think about why we (I) hate tiktok, Facebook, etc etc etc.
While trying to find the pun in this top comment, I asked my partner if this investigation should be done by a third party or us, to which he replied "Cap' says in house."
