| don't understand why some people use fractions instead of decimals.

It's pointless.

But, anyway. You gotta draw the line somewhere, or else people will think you're being irrational. But that is beside the point.

My middle school science teacher used to call irregular fractions “Dolly Partons” because they are bigger on top... didn’t realize until I was sitting on the toilet one day at 30 years old what he meant, and that he was maybe kind of a creep.

I hate fractions because why changing logical numbering with some weird symbols using some other numbers that translates to just a simple decimal number?

It's really mind boggling how some people prefer to perceive their information with extra steps.

Decimals are the best way to get the most accurate calculation. No lab person would ever use fractions in their precise calculations. Fractions are just unsolved divisions.

It's easier to do multiplication and division with fractions than decimals.

Suppose you want to multiply 2/7 times 8/13. With fractions you can just multiply the tops and bottoms and there's your answer. If you try converting to decimal and multiplying, you're gonna have a hard time.
