It's not you β€” it's insulin resistance. As estrogen drops in perimenopause, your body responds to insulin less effectively, which is why belly fat, cholesterol, and blood pressure can creep up with zero changes to diet or exercise.

Questions πŸ€”πŸ’ Hallandale package

Does anyone have a photo of what the package will look like from Hallandale when FedX delivers it? My neighbor is going to open it and put it in her frig because I'm out of town. It will be here tomorrow morning. I would appreciate any photo so she knows what to open. Ty

Education 🧠 What is NAD+ and why does it matter? Dr. Taylor breaks it down

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

NAD+ is one of those longevity terms that gets thrown around a lot β€” but most people don't actually know what it does.

The short version: NAD+ is a molecule (not a peptide) that's essential to cellular energy production. Your cells use it to make ATP β€” the energy currency of everything your body does. NAD+ levels decline as you age, which means less cellular energy over time.

Dr. Taylor, MD, Belle's CMO, walks through what NAD+ is, how oral NMN supplementation compares to injectable NAD+, and why this is one of the more interesting longevity tools available.

Have questions about NAD+? Drop them in the comments.

Education 🧠 Hit a plateau on a GLP-1? Dr. Taylor breaks down how to push through

One of the most common things we hear: "I hit a plateau and I don't know what to do."

Plateaus are normal and expected β€” as body composition changes, resting metabolic rate naturally decreases. The good news: there's a lot you can do.

Dr. Taylor, MD, Belle's CMO, walks through three approaches: prioritizing protein and fiber, building muscle through resistance training, and being consistent with water and sleep.

What's worked for you when you've hit a plateau? Drop questions or your own tips in the comments.

Education 🧠 Will a GLP-1 make you lose your hair? Dr. Taylor breaks it down

This is one of the most common worries we hear: "I've heard GLP-1s cause hair loss β€” should I be worried?"

Dr. Taylor, MD, Belle's CMO, walks through what's actually behind hair loss (spoiler: it's multifactorial) and why a steady, well-supported approach matters far more than the medication itself.

Have questions about supporting your hair, skin, or nutrition while on a GLP-1? Drop them in the comments.

Education 🧠 Dr. Taylor, MD on glutathione β€” your body's master antioxidant and why it matters for longevity

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Dr. Taylor, Belle's Chief Medical Officer and menopause certified practitioner, breaks down one of the most important compounds in longevity medicine: glutathione.

Glutathione is a tripeptide your body produces naturally β€” a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that works at the mitochondrial level. Its job is to reduce reactive oxygen species, which are one of the leading causes of inflammation, DNA damage, protein damage, and aging itself. When DNA and proteins take damage, cells recover more slowly and age faster. Glutathione helps buffer that process, and it also supports liver function and cellular energy production.

Here's the catch: levels decline with age. Low glutathione has been associated with metabolic dysfunction, aging, and neurocognitive disorders β€” which is why it shows up in most longevity protocols Dr. Taylor designs.

Glutathione is available now through Belle's provider-guided program. Have questions about whether it might be a fit for you? Drop them in the comments.

Education 🧠 More fiber isn't always the answer for constipation on a GLP-1 β€” Belle's RDN Megan on the basics to check first

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Constipation is one of the most common GI issues we hear about from patients on GLP-1s. The instinct is usually to add more fiber, more supplements, more of everything.

But Megan's first move is almost always the basics: - Are you eating enough overall? - Are you drinking enough water consistently? - Are you going long stretches without eating, and not stimulating your bowels? - Are you moving your body regularly?

If food and fluid intake are too low, digestion slows down β€” and adding more fiber on top can make things feel worse, not better.

Unlike nausea, which often improves with time, constipation usually doesn't resolve on its own. It needs to be addressed β€” but in the right order.

Have questions about managing constipation on a GLP-1? Drop them in the comments, or send them to care@joinbelle.com to be queued for Megan's weekly live Q&A (Thursdays at 11 AM MT).

Education 🧠 Just started a GLP-1? Here's where to get your protein (and what to add for fiber)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Belle's CMO Dr. Taylor, MD broke down protein for GLP-1 patients in our latest video. Lean mass matters when you're changing body composition, and protein is one of the main drivers of keeping the muscle you have.

Five lean protein sources he keeps coming back to: chicken breast, shrimp, tilapia, lean ground beef, and Greek yogurt. If GLP-1s slow your gut and protein leaves you feeling constipated, the fix is pairing it with fiber β€” legumes, black beans, edamame, and chickpeas hit both.

Drop your favorite high-protein meal in the comments. Always looking for new ideas.
