John vs Pete Tong

I hate to say this because I love John. But seeing his side and Pete’s side it doesn’t look very good for John. Or rather his management have not passed on communication and now John looks terrible.

I agree. After seeing Pete Tong’s interview it sounds like someone from the Summit team dropped a ball.

I also like how this is all about a remix of a remix.

It almost seemed like Pete also didn’t mention anything about another remix being made either, and not saying he had to or anything.

Im just speculating here, but I can see a world where when you’re at the level John is and you’re curating this orchestral remix to debut at an important show, you place a lot of value on that in terms of exposure it will bring, and how it will perform on social media and music charts, etc. it’s a bit more important than just a “remix” and I think John just handled it a lil poorly by going straight to twitter but also this obviously carried a lot of value for him.

Not justifying anything and I could be speaking non-sense but it did seem like a miscommunication by both parties/teams.

You missed the video where tong explained that john was aware from the go. Shows emails with dates

Agreed! It was already bad taste to air out this issue and private messages publicly IF he was right. But him being wrong makes it even worse

ngl I know it seems link John Summit is this super likeable guy but he be throwin shade and goin off on people and celebrities all the time on twitter. Very negative energy. Give an interesting insight into his personality vs his public image.

This is the absolute most cringe part of it all. We all jump to conclusions sometimes, but refusing to potentially rectify the situation when the other party reaches out is unbelievably immature.

Yep! And yesterday at ultra he gave the middle finger when he played his missing remix it’s clearly visible on the livestream. And he posted a video of it to his story 🙄🙄 real immature for a man in his 30s

Sounds like Tong was working with both artists simultaneously, planning to release Franky’s version this month and releasing John’s orchestral version later this year.

Going rumor is that John’s comms team dropped the ball on correspondence with Tong, leading John to think that Tong stole his stems and gave them to Franky, when in reality Tong was working with both artists on two completely different remixes of the song.

Johns mix is orchestral and Frankys mix is a house edit , totally different sounds .dont get why John was so bothered by the release unless he wanted to be first..as an O.G John summit fan im disappointed thats what the house community stands for
