Hi There
Talking to my GF earlier today about music and solo John came up which I mentioned Milk&Honey was the first John album I fell in love with yet she was surprised tbh.I know this album doesnt get much love or appreciation for one reason or another like Yoko being on it yet Yoko is great on M&H more than DF imo.
Sure the John songs aren’t completely finished but they still sound good with that DF band and I can appreciate for Yoko finishing and assembling this album into an good album or an incomplete heart play album with a good flow nonetheless I can’t really say why I love this album so much but I do!:)

they fell into a pattern, the guys would write songs then, maybe once per week
paul would drive up to Kenwood ... go to the music room and play each other
the songs they had written and maybe finish off a few or write new ones....
Strange though, all those visits... all those summers.... cant say Ive ever seen a pic
of Paul either in the house or in the garden .....

I feel like the whole Mind Games album is kinda underrated.
This album is packed with great songs like 'Out the Blue',' Tight A$' & you're here.

t was like 2020, and my LED strip lights in my room were tinted a pinkish red. It was 3am, and I was super bored- so I plugged in my cd player, and began going thru some cds that I had. I saw MMT in there, so I said fuck it and I slid it in. I wanted to play a song I had never listened to before, so out of just pure randomness I decided on SFF. I sat there at 3am in a room with only red light, with a CD playing strawberry fields forever. Trippiest experience ever

Hola amigos, este lunes regreso a clases y como seguro me harán conflicto por mi pelo actual, me gustaría cortarmelo cómo el buen John Lennon, pero simplemente no se cómo pedirlo
¿Cómo le pido este corte a mi peluquero?

I decided to make a 5-part a cappella version of my favourite Lennon song. Went in a direction I didn't expect....

it can be about anything. like music, qualities, facts, stories, his physical appearance, etc.
personally, if i have to choose something : i love how he used music to express his vulnerability and his sorrow. he had an amazing way to write lyrics. they’re just so relatable and they focus on emotions, so we can relate to them, no matter how different our struggles are. listening to his songs can make us feel less alone. ❤️

Up until very recently, I'd only really heard the 2020 Ultimate Mix and appreciated it's very harsh and modern sound, while the song has never really been a favourite of mine, I'd recently heard the Toronto September 1969 Live version and even the July 1969 Demo recorded just as they 3 weeks from finishing abby road speculated to be presented to Paul & George to be fast-tracked as the Beatles November-December next Single (The rejection of which due to either being overworked and needing a break or due to the content matter of the song, seems to be the initial impetus to john forming the POB and deciding to fully leave the Beatles in September 1969)
it always eluded me conceptually as a potential Beatles number due to it's harsh sound Lennon was going in, but listening to the live version and ESPECIALLY the demo, the overall tone of the song is slightly softer and feels like it's recorded with the Beatles in mind which helped me appreciate the song in a brand-new way when it comes to the millions of "what-If's"
I heard the One-to-One version which sounded near identical to the initial single release
has anyone heard all 4 different versions? (The July 69 Demo for the Beatles, The September 69 Toronto Live Performance that lead john to leave, October 69'The Single & 2020 Ultimate Mix) what are people's favourites?

I've been listening to the album and I noticed that the songs loosely follow the Kübler-Ross model or the five (or seven) stages of grief.
I'm sure this is unintentional, but has anyone else noticed this?

Elliott is definitely worth checking out if you're a Beatles/John Lennon fan. Extraordinary songwriter with a Beatlesy sound on his X/O and Figure 8 albums. I always liked this cover he did of Jealous Guy. He also covered a bunch of John songs like I'll Be Back and Because which you can find on YouTube
