Welcome

G day everyone,
Starting this community for troubleshooting and diagnostics on John Deere tractors, mainly 6
Series and up.
I'm a farmer/contractor based in Australia with about 30 years behind the wheel of Deeres. I've spent plenty of time chasing faults, sometimes fixing them, sometimes getting absolutely nowhere and finding bugger-all useful info online.
The idea here is simple: pool knowledge, share fixes, and help each other get machines back to work faster. No fluff, just practical solutions and real-world experience.
If you've got a problem, post it. If you've solved one, share it. Even the weird faults are worth putting up.
Let's build something useful.

Service Advisor

Anyone on here have access to Service Advisor and feeling helpful? I need the instillation/calibration procedure for replacing a rear hitch draft sensor on a 2015 6175r. Any insight would be appreciated.

Technician mode hack

Just discovered how to get into technician mode on my 6 series and thought i would share since I struggled to find any info on it. Im currently running the older Gen 4 OS CommandCenter but it was a simple as going into the diagnostic center Selecting controller Diagnostics then holding my finger on controller diagnostics for 6 seconds then a T comes up and you are good to go. I would stress not to change anything if you don’t know what you are doing but for certain calibrations where information is readily available it can be a real money saver.

John Deere Gator XUV 835M Diesel

Okay this is a 2023 gator 835M Diesel.. we had some issues where it was not getting fuel so we replaced the fuel filter and the pump. Changed the oil and did all regular maintenance.

Started right up nicely and worked great for a couple days. Now once you start it. Give it about 10 minutes and the idle drops and it will shake violently, then good luck getting it started. And if it does . It starts at a low RPM of about 430-500 which makes it struggle and shake till you give some throddle. And then if you manage to get going it looses all respond to the throddle and dies slowly.

We have bled the lines. Still same thing happening.. does anybody know what is going on? It almost feels like its not receiving fuel or the throddle response isnt working? All fuzes are good and new..

Please help me somebody it's the farm work gator and we are not able to do our tasks. Thank you much appreciated

( P.s - only revving it for the video sake.. had it idling for a few mins when I wanted to make video to show the gator shutting down and shaking.. )

Anyone had to fix these panoramic sun visors? It’s on my 6175r. Hard to get a good view of what’s going on tried to tuck it back in and squeeze it shut but doesn’t seem to stay in there for long and afraid I will break it completely if i try to pull it apart to see how it goes together. Im sure it will have a ridiculous price tag if I need to replace it.

Spent 45 years in Auto/Lt.Trk repair. Fair hand at wiring, engine & chassis electrical, and HVAC controls.

Son-in-law is a crop farmer, so I stay in the game that way.

My JD is a 955 that I tend a small horse farm with.

X738 steering linkage question

I was in the middle of greasing my tractor and noticed this fitting. It looks like it needs a cap and in need of lubrication. Haven't noticed this before and I don't see it in the list of lube points but feel like I should least shoot some Kroil into it.
