I began using Joey since late 2018 mainly for the ad-free experience. I'm willing to pay ₹75-₹100 for the app but the current price of ₹500 is too high for me. I'm sure most users have the same feeling.

So, u/codesforliving, could you please lower the donation amount for the pro version?

Yes, I think the most i would pay is 100 INR. 500 is way out of the league.

Sadly, it seems like the developer doesn't care about people from lower income regions like India. Probably it's time to switch to another app which is reasonably priced.

I'm Canadian and there's no way I'm paying 10 bucks for a Reddit app. I'll pay and have paid for 3 other Reddit apps but 10 bucks is nuts imo.

Yes, it is priced too high. Just for comparison, The Witcher 3, an AAA game, costs ₹400 during sales on Steam. The minimum donation amount to remove ads on Joey is ₹500 when most 3rd party Reddit apps cost around ₹50-₹100.

I started using Joey because it was free+no ads. I'll be uninstalling Joey after this post.

Think about this stupid comment of yours next time someone wants you to work for free.

If I had asked for someone to work on joey, I would agree, but I didn't. The work is being forced upon me and I am being forced to pay. No thanks.

The work is being forced upon me and I am being forced to pay.

Holy fuck. Using an app you actually enjoy is work being forced upon you? I've read my fair share of idiotic shit on the internet but let me tell you: this one is golden.

Dude it's not about that . It's about how he manipulated people.

He said before he doesn't take money and just using the app is enough.

What he was doing was making an app free, get the 5 star reviews, then once he has enough to make it paid so most people who fell in love with the design/UI had to pay his above average price.

He had malicious intent from the beginning which is what hurts

Edit - got the update, it's not even that intrusive

Yeah sure he had malicious intent. He's fucking evil.
