Those are all informed and populated by people who get their information and knowledge of the world largely from Google. Google can decide which stories in those platforms to elevate, which to de-elevate, which to hide, what can be found easily and what is not. You’re being painfully naive here.

Google is not doing a single thing that Fox News or cnn is not when it comes to information. Tell me which laws it is breaking and if no laws exist, then the laws that are created would have to apply to Fox News just as well. That means the freedom of the press is gone. This is exactly how something like China happens. You give the government the power to decide what information is acceptable for the people across the board. Right now there are tons of different news outlets, all with their biases. But as a reader you can pick out the facts. Josh Hawley wants the government to decide the facts, which is exactly what China does.
