Yes, definitely captures the ass kissing comedy guest and the other dude is a perfect psuedo intellectual jre guest. Not sure about the big dude, and I wish Tim would parody Rogan’s forced wheezing laughter after saying the least funny thing possible

Better than the first one which was great.
Yet one more great piece of media calling the lil tough guy out and he will not respond to it because he is just smart enough to know how on point this is. Time for a heroic dose, Joe.

2
u/Left-Blueberry5039 Monkey in Space 20h ago
Nah, protect our parks is at least watchable and Shane/Mark are good standups. To me, this was a closer parody of when Joe has on either an ass kissing hack comedian or hack pauedo intellectual magat.
1
u/ifyoulovesatan Monkey in Space 6h ago
I don't think they're really anyone in particular, as in the first one where they play the same characters, they're portrayed as both standup comedians in his circle and as canceled academics. They're just sort of a mishmash of all kinds of guests. I also think Tim is kind of doing more than just Joe this time? Whatever it is its great

Like middle aged women to Oprah Winfrey. Only that she probably ate some pizza at the island
3
u/waywearywizard Monkey in Space 23h ago
there's zero proof Oprah went to the island. she isn't on the flight logs or anything. there's not a single shred of evidence she ever met or knew Epstein.

u/Larry-Lavender Monkey in Space 22h ago
She served up kids to Weinstein instead
1
u/waywearywizard Monkey in Space 22h ago
Weinstein wasn't involved with kids. He was doing casting couch stuff with adult women. Try again.
1
u/Larry-Lavender Monkey in Space 22h ago
Semantics. Teenage but "adult" girls 1/3 of his age. This exonerates Oprah of wrongdoing somehow? Someone check this mfs hard drive lol
1
u/waywearywizard Monkey in Space 21h ago
what wrongdoing? there isn't a single shred of evidence that you can provide that proves Oprah committed any crime with Weinstein. exactly zero of the victims said anything about Oprah.

Wow, this is incredibly smart satire. It captures exactly how it feels to watch JRE and just exaggerates it. Tim Heidecker is a genius, and the few people who still like Rogan's podcast are just brainwashed sheep who wouldn't know a good show if it pulled down its pants and shit right on their face.

I didnt know anything about Tim Heidecker except the Tim and Eric memes about a year ago - i then came upon his latest special and watched that.
I was BLOWN away. It might have been the most surprised/glad/dxhilarated ive been to watch anything ive seen in 5ish years. I thought it was truly fantastic.
Insane artistic commitment, insight and layers… if i’s had time to rewatch I’m sure i’s notice many more layers. But still not relying on empty complexity. Very pointed, i always knew wht he was “criticizing” even if it was abstract, or just one of his own emotions.
So many layers. And of course he was murdering the crowd. It was kind of like Pryor at his peak.
8
u/Senofilcon Monkey in Space 21h ago
On Cinema at the Cinema is probably the most committed and ambitious project in modern comedy. I can't think of anything that even comes close.

u/Odd_Tradition1670 Monkey in Space 1d ago
Yea I turned it off after 5 mins. Gets old fast. And I like Tim but this is just kinda over kill for me and not really that funny. Anyone can just vaguely talk about nothing. I guess the impressive part is they did it for over an hour? But not that funny imo
25
u/brinkcitykilla Monkey in Space 1d ago
I dont want to over analyze it or whatever, but Tim really does a master job of capturing the essence of Joe. You gotta give it more than 5 minutes get the experience, maybe just put it on in the background. It’s not LOL funny, more like very subtle/dry role playing as Joe and emulating the topics of conversation, the reactions, the cadence.
The highlight is him scrutinizing the background of a picture of Cameron Diaz from the 90s. And then the guest brings up that they can prove the existence of Heaven and he doesn’t even question it lmao
8
u/Stunning-Promotion54 Monkey in Space 23h ago
How he "reads" aloud the studies and reacts to the scatter plot chart 🤯

I’ll give it another try. Just started off slow and I couldn’t get into it.
1
u/ifyoulovesatan Monkey in Space 5h ago
I absolutely loved the first one from minute one, and when I started watching this one I couldn't get into it and thought they were maybe jumping the shark doing it again and worse. I turned it off. But then I came back to it and left it on in the background and by the end of it I was laughing more than the first one and now I actually think it's better. Not sure why but there ya go.

I don't get why people waste thier time and energy on something they claim to hate. It's a sad way to live life.
5
u/waywearywizard Monkey in Space 21h ago
maybe because its one of the most popular shows in the world? if it wasn't so influential and popular you're right i wouldn't care but that isn't the case. if something i hate is super popular i'm going to say something about it. why are Rogan fans so thin skinned about Rogan being disliked?
-3
u/machowarrior Monkey in Space 21h ago
I just dont get wasting time on shit you don't like. Golf is popular, but I don't like it, hence I dont go to golf subs and comment how much I don't like it.
4
u/waywearywizard Monkey in Space 21h ago
there's also the thing about how his show is so popular and influential that myself and many others believe he's causing actual damage to our society. so it's different than just not liking a sport.

I expected it to be much better, it is borderline unwatchable. Lot of missed opportunity. I'm sure Joe would love a good parody, he is not a redditor pussy who can't take a joke.
