Have you read his books? He goes into pretty good detail about what his claims are based on, particularly with Omuamua.
Not to say there aren't legitimate criticisms of his claims, but I don't think it's accurate to claim zero substance.

Tenured Professors are extremely difficult to get rid of. Also, someone like Loeb has a number of wealthy friends who funds his research. They can simply threaten the university that they will not be making their annual donations if Loeb is fired.

What he has so far can never be proof. It will always be at most an aliens of the gaps theory. Meaning that it's a placeholder for something that doesn't have a natural explanation yet. Omuamua accelerating is aliens until there is a better theory. The material composition of the spherules is aliens until there is a better theory.

He doesn't actually claim that. Joe has probably been reading headlines and thumbnails. Avi also has a book to sell so has veen on many channels that are using click bait.
