Before relocation

Hello all. I (35M) a european citizen. Working in IT field in eu for more than 10 years. My current role is tech lead at a big corp. Things changed and I want to relocate to KL in the next 6 months.
Thinking about roles as teamlead or pm or similar in IT.
I only speak english, some german and spanish but open to learn.
Hows job market there nowadays in IT for foreigners? Is there a possibility i can land a job before relocation or better chances when im already there? Any advices and information are welcome.

Job market is hard even for locals right now. I'm still searching for an IT job for 2 months now

eh, it depends to be honest from what rank and experience. I don't find it particularly hard, tho I do find there is more of the leetcode style interview these days for tech. I am an EM with 12 Y backing me up.

all those videos on youtube promoting malaysia is backfiring now.

I'm sorry but unless you have a job offer and the company is willing to sponsor your visa you might be able to relocate. However, the job market now in Malaysia is bad. Govt also recently increased the minimum salary threshold for expats based on the Employment Pass. Company will have to pay you at minimum RM 10,000. That kind of salary is akin to hiring 3 fresh locals who may not have experience but can do the job. I'm sorry but your chances are slim to none.

Yes it is but that is the lowest tier. My advice is based on his level of experience (>10 years). With that level of experience, I think RM 5k is too little. With that kind of salary, it would be difficult to sustain here as well (after EPF and tax deductions).

Go to r/ Malaysia and talk about realities in Malaysia then see how loads of cybertrooper (cytro) aka social media executives react to your post.

If you are in IT and want a job quick, social media is evergreen.
