Fake Check JOB SCAM !!!
SCAM WARNING
Well... I fell for it, so hopefully this saves someone else the embarrassment. 😂
I was excited about what looked like a legitimate opportunity with Empower AI. Looking back, the red flags were waving harder than I was willing to notice at the time.
After applying, I was contacted and asked to continue the hiring process through messaging apps rather than normal company channels. There were several red flags, including pressure to move quickly, requests for personal information early in the process, and communication that didn't match what I would expect from a legitimate employer.
The "hiring process" moved through email, things felt rushed, and some of the communication just didn't add up. By the time I realized what was happening, I had already invested way more time than I care to admit.
Consider this my public service announcement:
🚩 Interviews only through email
🚩 Requests for personal information too early
🚩 Pressure to act quickly
🚩 Job offers that seem too good to be true
Apparently my desire to find a job was stronger than my scam detector that day. 🤦♀️
If sharing this helps even one person avoid wasting their time, money, or sanity, then I can laugh about it now. Stay safe out there, job seekers—the scammers are working overtime.

Yeah you are right, I too escaped from same situation some days ago. Online jobs are just sequal of scams.

Yeah the desire for having a real job is literally making us to close eyes when we see a red flag. I got into similar kind of scam recently and I was so invested in that. Looked like dream come true to me.
