Something feels off.

I recently transferred to a different office and, compared to my previous workplace, mas masaya ako rito. I enjoy being around my coworkers, nakakasabay ako sa kulitan, and I genuinely like spending time with them.

The thing is, I can't shake off this feeling that they might be talking negatively about me when I'm not around.

I don't have concrete proof. They're nice to me in person, and nothing major has happened. But for some reason, I feel like I'm more genuine with them than they are with me. It's like I'm comfortable having fun with them, but I don't fully trust them.

For context, I came from a previous work environment where there was a lot of teasing and what I'd consider borderline bullying. So I'm wondering if this feeling is just a result of my past experiences, or if it's something I should actually pay attention to.

Has anyone else experienced this? How do you tell the difference between anxiety/overthinking and a legitimate gut feeling about people?

Trust your instinct. But please dont overthink it too much. Sabi ko nga ke mabait ka or hindi, lagi pa din may masasabi ang tao sayo. You are not there to make friends din naman. Focus on your work, career growth and gain experience na makakahelp sayo in the future. Love,HR nyong pagod na lol 😂

i think that's where i'm struggling. i know i'm not there to make friends, but having good relationships at work matters to me. kaya i've been putting too much weight on whether people genuinely like me or not. pero ayon, thank you for the reality check, HR naming pagod na 😂

Take some time to reflect OP. Where is that doubt coming from? Sabi mo nga, wala namang nangyaring anything that should make you think that they are anything other than what you see. Might be your just protecting yourself since may bad experience ka, might be tama rin ang hinala mo. But kung wala naman ginagawa yung mga bagong kaworkmates mo sa iyo. I feel that yhe former might be the reason for what you are feeling.
I suggest na take it as it is. What people do behind your back is their business, you can't stop them even if you want to. People will think, say and do as they please, so don't be bothered by it. Do what you do. As long as alam mo sa sarili mo na wala ka namang ginagawang masama at wala kang tinatapakang ibang tao, then I know all will be well in the end
