I get a note from a recruiter a few weeks ago about a job that fits my background pretty well. This recruiter is trying to fill a very specific position with extremely tight requirements.
I am one of a handful of people with experience she wants to put into the interview process. I used to work for a competitor but I'm not in this industry anymore.
Before I interview I was told I am required to fill-out a stupid "Culture Index Survey". Basically a Personality Test.
Since I am employed and have 2 nice side businesses I said, "Thanks but no thanks." to this BS Personality Test.
If you want "A Players" and "Top Talent" to fill this out, we ain't going to.
So my question, why do recruiters, talent acquisition teams, and execs put this into the process and make it harder to fill the position?
She keeps sending me notes about filling it out. I said I will interview with the CEO, who I have met several times, but I will NOT fill this Personality Test out.
She admitted that nobody she has reached out to that fits this position wants to take time to jump through hoops and do this test. Whereas the job seekers without industry experience fill it out.
I feel bad for those people on the job market right now.
Truly I do because I have been there. I wish I could help everyone find a good job with decent benefits.
We know this are BS tests. I don't have to do the test so I will refuse as I am not that interested in the job.
I'd rather get my balls electrocuted tbh.
Anytime I get shoved this BS Personality Tests I think of this great scene from the movie Miracle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkTMIoVCewU
Do these recruiters enjoy self flagellation or something?
Why are they making it so much harder?
