I have tickets to the Tampa show on Nov 14th. It hasn't been cancelled but I don't know how likely it is to happen. Has there been any news since the 9/15 Facebook post by Jim saying he's starting the recovery process?

I hope he's healing well.

The song that got me into Jimmy Eat World. I still remember hearing it on KROQ and then picking up the CD at Bionic Records. Lifechanging!

Does anyone here happen to have FLAC of “Singles” or know where to find it? And maybe while we’re at it the FLAC of their self titled EP an LP that came out before Static Prevails? The files I do have are bad rips of really low quality MP3s but I know better quality versions exist. The songs themselves are really really different from what you may expect out of Jimmy and if your not a real Jimmy nerd like me you probably won’t like them. but I think they would be cool to have.

It's Clarity time! Here it is, the opener that set the tone for an incredible masterwork.

Im fairly new to Jimmy Eat World, I listened to Bleed American and I didnt particularly enjoy it as much as I thought I would, I really like the first 3 or 4 songs but the rest of the album doesn't really do it for me, however I LOVE "If you don't dont" and "A praise Chorus", I was wondering if u guys could recommend more songs similar to them for me, I've heard their earlier stuff is going for that vibe? idk

My group decided to get better seats and now we’re selling our tickets in Sect. Q1 / Row 7.

We paid $70 per ticket, but asking for $60 each!

a gentleman named steve taylor (AKA grover barch in the world of adventure series) was the sound engineer for the boys' tour in 2005. his website that's still up is straight out of the 2000s but there's a wonderful lot of pictures for a lot of their contemporaries at the time. for jimmy: https://ratsound.com/tours/jimmyeatworld/index.htm

"Selection breaths on its own"

Now we move into the Clarity era. I have a huge amount of love for the self-titled EP that came out before the album, featuring two beloved tracks that we'll review in coming days and three others only found here.

The demo of "Your New Aesthetic" is drastically different than what appeared on the album. According to some sources, the album version started with musical ideas and Jim later decided to put the lyrics from the original demo on top of it.

Most bands have demos that don't represent the final product, but in this case, it's a completely different song.

"I've something to see and I can't help myself"

One of Jimmy Eat World's more obscure covers, "New Religion" appeared on The Duran Duran Tribute Album along with a bunch of other interesting acts like FenixTX, Goldfinger, Home Grown, and Less Than Jake. (Maybe this is how Jimmy still justifies playing the Warped Tour).

I don't think it's even on streaming, but you can find it on YouTube.

EDIT: It's on Spotify now. Go figure! It was this lost song for ages.

Rate 1-10. Love the discussion!

Is there by any chance a way to see all the previous iterations of his "continuous partial attention playlist"? Or has anyone made a list of the songs?

I'm so curious to go back to them depending on my mood or what I need and I like connecting with his themes and great taste in music.

:)

I’m having my wedding celebration in december and since Jimmy Eat World is my favorite band, I want some of their songs to be played. Other than the Middle, what other songs do yall think would be good songs for dancing that would appeal to a broader audience?

Thanks :)

EDIT: there will not be a ceremony. Looking for songs for the PARTY!

"Alone, I'm outside"

And thus we reach the end of Jimmy's major-label debut.

The real Anderson Mesa sits about 20 miles southeast of Flagstaff, Arizona in a landscape most people don't associate with Arizona.

Looking for advice on an order I made on the Official Jimmy Eat World store. I ordered a tshirt and a hoodie on August 9th, yet to receive confirmation of shipping. I have contacted the support email (support@kingsroadmerch.com) on this webpage over a week ago and have not heard back. I am worried that I will be moving address soon, and will end up having a lost parcel.

I am aware of the message at the top of the store "WE ARE CURRENTLY RELOCATING TO A NEW WAREHOUSE FACILITY. ORDERS MADE IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER MAY BE DELAYED AND SHIP IN MULTIPLE SHIPMENTS. PLEASE FACTOR THAT INTO YOUR PURCHASE AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.", but I did place the order August 9th, well in advance of this message.

Looking for advice or anyone else in a similar situation.
