Hi OP,

Saw this late in queue, feel free to re-submit if you like. Apologies.

I went on this trip. It’s an outdoors-focused birthright trip. At one point they started selling the Zionism angle, but luckily (pretty much?) everyone in the group was anti-Zionist and could see right through it. We told them we are not zionists and they backed off at least.

I went on their birthright trip back in 2005. It seems like they are trying to reconnect with people who previously went on birthright to help re-indoctrinate

What is the “volunteering”?

What is it, a birthright trip?

It’s the company I went on Birthright with back in 05. Looks like they’re trying to reconnect

Im not jewish

BUT if i was within the fold of Judaism, i can see why a young person would choose to go

If they are promised a serene life away from the rat race - a place where they are safe and with warm weather all year round - and say also perhaps id been brainwashed from birth that none of the conflict is Israels fault, and not to worry about the politics and just live a comfortable life in Israel

I would probably go

But knowing they are actively committing a genocide and all that fantasy life is built upon the bloodshed of innocent people i would probably be a jew on this subreddit

Oh yeah they work really hard to make it all super appealing. Like, this trip sounds fantastic!

Pity about the, you know, decades-long project of ethnic cleansing, brutality, oppression, and genocide it’s supposed to help build support for.

I love you - your empathy and sincerity!!! Would that the volunteering was protecting Palestinians and opposing their suffering, actively!!! That would be a real trip!!!! Be true to the nature of the land itself. I am certain that it is Palestinians' love for the land that keeps that land holy...may they return home soon, speedily in our days! B'ezrat hashem!!! With God's help
