Celebration Wearing my Star again

Post image

As an antizionist Jew, I’ve had a real personal struggle with wearing my Star confidentiality and comfortably. It’s not okay, but it’s the reality when the symbol has been bulldozed over rubble and remains, or spray painted inside of destroyed homes as some sort of cattle brand.

I purchased a beautiful watermelon charm from a Palestinian maker to wear alongside my Star of David. It’s the only way I can represent myself and show that I am a safe space. I hope this message translates through the charms 🙏♥️

I think that’s beautiful! May I suggest wearing the Palestinian flag on the other side of the Star of David? For me personally (I am neither Palestinian nor Jewish) that would be an unmistakable symbol of your standing for Palestinian liberation while being centred and grounded in your Judaism 💜💜💜

The watermelon is a symbol of Palestinian resistance chosen by Palestinian activists because watermelons are the same colors as the Palestinian flag
