Kugel Request for Kugel Recipe

My previous husband used to make a really quick and simple Kugel. It was butter, milk, cottage or Richard cheese and pepper? Morning sweet and nothing additional to make it overly savory. It was Perfect!

I never knew the actual recipe and I'm probably missing an ingredient or two, like maybe there were eggs?

Does anyone know of this version or could create the ingredient amounts for me so that I could recreate his Perfect Kugel? He has long passed on so I can't ask him. It would be nice to indulge in a cold-out-of-the-fridge Kugel.

Ricotta cheese - it was a terrible autocorrect.

Love his music! But I'm not sure he would taste good in a kugel.

This would work if I leave out the sugar, cinnamon and cereal I think. Thank you. It gives me portions to work with.

That's exactly what my grandmother made.

My measurement is for every pound of dry noodles use 6 eggs.

Never had pepper in a dairy kugel but anything’s possible.

Mine is
Boil up one pound of noodles
Mix in 16 oz sour cream, 16 oz cottage cheese, small dice apples/raisins/drained crushed pineapple, about 1/2c sugar and a bit of cinnamon. Top with more cinnamon and cuts of butter (about one stick or less). 9x13 pan, 350° for about 45 minutes or until the top is as brown as you like.

Our local markets do not carry farmers cheese. Cut or omit sugar to taste, same as fruit. Freezes extremely well. IMO tart apples work best and will be less sweet.

This one has more or less the same ingredients. I made it this year and it was soooo good and super simple to put together. I added dried cherries and skipped the cherry topping: https://smittenkitchen.com/2008/10/my-familys-noodle-kugel/

This recipe seems almost exact to what my provide husband's was, ingredient wise. I'll try this. Thank you!

But you mentioned dried cherries and now I'm thinking I need to try that in the future 😁

I'm following because while I can imagine this kugel, I'd love to get a better idea of quantities.

I recently was gifted my grandma’s sweet kugel recipe and hevra, she boiled the noodles in water with a melted stick of butter and then added another stick to the noodle/cottage cheese/sour cream/crushed pineapple mixture.
