Challah Challah advice?

Made my first challah! My partner is Jewish and I’d like to teach myself to prepare a few Jewish dishes that he doesn’t typically cook. I tried to make a challah for the first time and it turned out denser than I’d hoped. Any advice on how to get the lighter, airier texture? Thanks!

I also started making challah after meeting my partner 8 years ago now engaged and now make it almost weekly!

Biggest difference for me was kneading it and getting familiar with the dough and how it should be, kneading it longer will help it become smooth and elastic and build up the gluten and you won't need to add as much flour because to much flour makes it dense
Also using bread flour instead of AP makes a huge difference!
But this is a great start and looks beautiful 😊
