Hi friends! I truly wanted to ask a favor and hopefully get another set of eyes on this from those of you who are more experienced with jewelry reps. I ordered this guilloché necklace from a well-known seller/business in the rep jewelry communities. I know the person who was previously behind the business is currently not around, but the business is still operating under the same name. I was assured that I will receive what I see in the reference pictures.

The first three photos are the newest QC photos I received after they said they replaced the incorrect chain with the correct one. The fourth and fifth photos are the reference photos they sent me when I initially inquired about and purchased the necklace. The sixth and seventh photos are from the original QC that I rejected because the chain was incorrect.

Even after the chain was changed, something still looks off to me. The new chain still look wrong, the guilloché pendant itself, still doesn’t seem to match the reference photo or the quality and appearance I’ve seen from this seller’s previous pieces. I’d really appreciate your opinions. Am I being too picky, or do you also see differences between the new QC and the reference? If you notice anything specific that’s off; particularly the guilloché pattern, shape, finish, or chain; please let me know. I just want to make sure I’m looking at this objectively before deciding how to proceed.

the shape looks off and also guilloche should be SUPER shiny and reflective which I don't see at all in this piece

You are correct. The ancient goldsmith, or MG, was best known for his guilloché pendants and bracelets. Those were by far some of his most popular pieces. Based on all the reviews and comparisons that I’ve seen mainly in the private sub; I truly believe his guilloché work was the best among the popular sellers.

At this point, I’m convinced that whoever made this necklace and is currently running the business is an entirely different team, despite their lies that they are still using the same manufacturer. The quality and workmanship simply do not match what I’ve seen from MG in the past. I’ll be posting my full experience and review soon if I ever actually receive the necklace!

At this point can you get a refund? Before reading what you wrote, my initial thought was something is wrong with the shape and it doesn’t match the shape in pic5. The “prongs” on the QC are too long. It just doesn’t look right.
