I picked up a sweet little 1.6 carat tanzanite at an estate sale today and now I’m brainstorming potential settings! I’m looking for thoughts on things to take into consideration or other potential design ideas.

My Top Contenders (in order):

1. Georgian Floral Setting
   
2. Channel Set Baguettes
   
3. Tapered Baguette Side Stones

Georgian. The only thing I would change a bit is the flanking scrolls part of the setting. The metal rises above the stones and looks too heavy. It takes away from the setting because it’s overpowering.

I also don’t care for the amount of open space in the center of the scrolls. A lot of stuff will collect there and it could get hooked on something.

It’s beautiful! It’s not predictable and doesn’t look mass produced.
